Xaman remains committed to providing the most secure, feature-rich, and user-friendly wallet for the XRP Ledger and Xahau ecosystems. We've introduced fees because leading in security isn’t optional.
To ensure long-term sustainability while maintaining an exceptional user experience, Xaman has transitioned to an industry-standard service fee model.
This update eliminates the previous threshold-based monetization and replaces it with a transparent, per-use fee structure. Fees are applied only to specific transactions that require extensive processing resources or involve trading activity.
Most transactions remain free
Trading now has a small 0.7% fee with a minimum of 0.09XRP
Some transactions cost a fixed-fee of 0.09 XRP
High Value Xaman Service Fee on Transactions over $50,000
The vast majority of user activity remains unaffected. The following transactions are free for all users:
Sending and receiving XRP
Sending and receiving tokens
Removing Trustlines
Canceling offers
Deleting accounts
Minting & Listing NFTs
To maintain optimal performance and security, Xaman now applies a small fee to transactions that require additional infrastructure resources:
Trading Transactions (0.7% service fee, minimum 0.09 XRP per transaction):
Token swaps
AMM deposits and withdrawals
Trading on the DEX
The following bear a fixed 0.09 XRP fee per transaction with the exception of pathfinding.
NFT trading
AMM creation and voting
Account settings modifications (AccountSet)
Trustline modifications (TrustSet)
Pathfinding payments (0.15 XRP fee due to additional computational complexity)
To reinforce Xaman’s position as the leading self-custodial wallet in security and reliability, transactions exceeding $50,000 will incur a 0.1% service fee, while transactions over $100,000 will have a 0.07% service fee.
This measure ensures the security and continued development of infrastructure that safeguards large-scale transfers.
Xaman Pro users and holders of 5,000 or more XAH tokens continue to benefit from reduced fees:
25 feeless trading transactions per month OR $1,000 in total trading volume per month before fees apply
Pro users who purchased before February 1, 2025, will enjoy a full year of completely fee-free trading
This adjustment ensures that high-activity users receive premium benefits while maintaining the best experience for the broader user base.
This update brings Xaman in line with industry standards used by wallets across the XRP Ledger, Ethereum, and Solana ecosystems. By moving to a per-use fee structure instead of a usage threshold model, Xaman ensures:
A sustainable and independent financial model
No arbitrary limitations or access restrictions
Users pay based on actual usage rather than a pre-set threshold
These changes support Xaman’s mission to deliver best-in-class self-custodial security, ongoing innovation, and continued growth.

When it comes to platforms as powerful as Xaman (formerly Xumm), it is normal for misinformation to circulate around some of its features and capabilities. Let's see if we can clear some of this up...
The native currency on the XRP Ledger is called XRP. XRP exists on the XRPL and can not be moved off of the XRPL so technically, XRP is always "stored" on the XRP Ledger. What Xaman actually stores is the private key to access your XRP Ledger account.
Once you enter your private key into Xaman, it is immediately encrypted and placed into an area secure location we call, "The Vault". There is no way for us to access the Vault remotely.
A custodial wallet is basically a customer account in a crypto exchange's company database. It is not an XRP Ledger account. Xaman is a self-custodial wallet. It stores the private key to access your XRP Ledger account.
This is false. Xaman offers several ways to purchase XRP. Simply select this link and you can explore the many options we offer.
There are many attack vectors for both cold and hot wallets and both types have their uses, their strengths and their potential weaknesses. Xaman was designed and coded by one of the strongest coding teams in the entire blockchain space and has been audited by one of the most advanced security audit firms in the world. We would argue that there is no safer wallet on the planet, either hot or cold, than Xaman.
No, the XRP Ledger is not a Proof of Stake network so there is no way to offer staking natively on the XRPL. Furthermore, there is no need to stake coins since the validation process is a cooperative based system, not a competitive based system. All fees charged by the XRP Ledger are destroyed so there is no way to generate "rewards" for users.
Have you ever wondered how well Xaman (formerly Xumm) would survive a natural disaster, an EMP, a Solar Flare or other catastrophic event? Although such events are historically rare or hypothetical, they do present a possible danger when it comes to your funds, so let’s consider the possibilities…
An EMP stands for Electro Magnetic Pulse. It is brief burst of electromagnetic energy that can disrupt communications, damage electronic equipment and in some cases, physically damage objects such as buildings and aircraft. An EMP can be generated naturally or artificially (nuclear weapons) but in either case, it could cause severe damage to electrical grids and/or communication lines.
A solar flare is an intense eruption of electromagnetic radiation in the Sun’s atmosphere. While a solar flare is not directly dangerous to humans there is a possibility that the effects of a large solar flare could be similar to an EMP.
The main concern is that any event that affects the electrical grid or the communication infrastructure of a country, continent, or even the world, would impact the XRP Ledger and therefore put your XRP in danger of being destroyed or becoming inaccessible.
The XRP Ledger is run on network validators and full history nodes which are distributed all over the world. With so many machines operated in different geographical locations, with different levels of redundancy on a per machine, per location basis, it is highly unlikely that the same disaster could affect a critical amount of them. Since your XRP exists on the XRPL, as long as even 1 validator or full history node exists anywhere in the world, your XRP still exists. EVERY validator and full history node would need to be destroyed in order for your funds to be lost.
Since your XRP exists on the XRP Ledger, your funds exist as long as the XRP Ledger is still operational, however, there are other issues to consider.
Xaman can only be installed on mobile devices which need to be fully operational in order for it to function. (Was your phone affected by the event? Does it still function properly? Can it still be charged?) Let’s assume that your phone has survived the event and is still fully functional and you have a way to charge it?
Xaman needs a way to connect to the internet in order to access the XRP Ledger. (Was the internet or cellular network affected by the event?) If you can not connect to the internet, you can not access your funds.
What does a post EMP/Solar Flare/Natural Disaster world look like? Is your plan to use your XRP to barter/purchase items and services? Is the plan to replace the current system of finance with the XRPL after the event?
Has anyone else been as diligent as you in preparing for the event? We certainly appreciate all of your preparations, but a network is only as useful as the people who use and maintain it. If you are the only one who has an operational validator, an operational phone and an operational cellular tower, than a network of one person is not going to be super helpful.
Xaman does not require any of our servers in order to operate. If all our servers were destroyed, Xaman would still function just fine as long as your phone still works and you can connect to the internet.
Xaman is a self custodial, XRP Ledger wallet that allows you to create and manage XRP Ledger accounts in a safe, secure and user friendly way. It is not effected by EMPs, solar flares or natural disasters. What could be effected by these events is the infrastructure required to access the XRP Ledger. If you are unable to access the XRPL, Xaman is not going to be much use to you.
Self-custodial, non-custodial, custodial, un-hosted, hosted... What's the difference?
If you are just getting started with crypto and blockchain, one of the biggest challenges can be trying to figure out what all of the different terms and fancy words mean. If you are thinking about installing Xaman (formerly Xumm) and are wondering what exactly words like "custodial", "non-custodial", "un-hosted" "self-custody" and "hosted" refer to, this article is going to help get you up to speed.
Most people are familiar with the general idea of what a bank is and how they work. In simple terms, a bank is a business that deals with money.
In simple terms, a bank is a business that deals with money. As a customer, you can open an account with a bank and deposit money into that account. The bank holds that money for you until you decide how you would like to use your funds.
This is an example of a "custodial" or "hosted" account. The bank created an account on their "hosted" system (on their computers which they own and operate) and agree to take "custody" of your funds when you deposit them. While your funds are in their custody, they have certain obligations and responsibilities which are, in theory, overseen by local/federal governments who are supposed to ensure that the banks act in a responsible and transparent way.
Most of the time accessing your funds is a fairly easy and straightforward process but there are several situations where a bank can decide to restrict access to your money, for example:
They suspect you of laundering money, financing terrorism, writing bad checks on your account.
If a creditor has a claim against your funds
If the government determines you owe them money (taxes, fines, penalties, etc.)
Banks can also decide who and where you can send your money to if they don't think you are making good financial decisions.
For example, a large, multinational bank in the UK informed their customers...
"It’s our responsibility to help protect your money. With this in mind we’ve taken the decision to stop payments made by credit/debit card to Binance until further notice, to help keep your money safe."
Source:
Fortunately, many people want their banks and governments to make these types of financial decisions for them so custodial accounts make a lot of sense for those who prefer to leave their funds in control of someone else.
When it comes to the XRP Ledger/Xahau, there are several crypto exchanges which offer custodial accounts. Similar to a bank, you can open an account with a crypto exchange and deposit money into your account with them. The exchange holds and administers that money for you and when it comes time to interact with the XRP Ledger/Xahau, they act as a "middle man" and perform transactions on your behalf.
For example, let's say a friend wanted to send you 1000 XRP. The crypto exchange would provide you with an r-address (which is an account number on the XRPL) and a destination tag. (which is your account number on the exchange's database) You would provide the r-address and the destination tag to your friend and they would send the funds to the r-address.
However, the r-address is not your r-address. It belongs to the crypto exchange. Your friend is sending the 1000 XRP to the crypto exchange's account, not to your account. You don't have an account on the XRPL. You have an account on the crypto exchange's database. The crypto exchange actually has your XRPL and puts a 1000 XRP credit your account with them. The actual XRP is in their XRPL account.
Since the exchange created an account on their "hosted" system (on their computers which they own and operate) and agree to take custody of your funds, we refer to them as custodial accounts.
This does create a potential question as to who actually owns the XRP since it is not really in your account. It is in the crypto exchange's account.
However... on the XRP Ledger, there is a second option.
One of the great features of the XRP Ledger/Xahau is that you can actually create your own account on the network. This means that you can create your own r-address and have complete control over it. It also means that you, and only you, can make decisions on how you will manage your funds. As well, you actually own and control your own XRP. We refer to this type of account on the XRP Ledger as a self-custodial account.
Self-custodial accounts on the XRPL are not controlled by banks or businesses or governments. They are completely controlled by you. Xumm helps you manage these types of accounts.
You may find that other wallets or companies refer to self-custodial accounts as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted" accounts. All three terms refer to the same type of accounts. The term self-custodial refers to an account where you have custody of your funds. This is not really obvious with the terms non-custodial and un-hosted.
Xaman is a self-custody wallet that allows you to transact directly with the XRP Ledger. It provides you with an easy way to create a new XRPL account in a safe and secure way, and helps you interact with the XRPL and manage your XRPL account(s).

How to create/How to use your first account in Xaman
Most people who are new to Xaman (formerly Xumm) will create their first XRP Ledger account during the installation process, but if you skipped that part you can easily create one (or multiple) accounts from within the app. Here's how...
How to install Xaman on your mobile device
If you are reading this, you’ve decided to install Xaman (formerly Xumm) on your mobile device. Congratulations! You are about to start your journey into the XRP Ledger ecosystem and Xaman will be your guide. Welcome aboard!
Generally, Xaman is compatible with most devices that run either:
⦁ Android v7 and up
⦁ iOS v13 or higher and an iPhone 7 or newer
(There are literally 1000's of different devices running dozen of different versions of Android (v7 - v11) and iOS (v13 - v17) so it is not possible for us to list them all here. Needless to say, as long as you are running a current version of the above operating systems, Xaman should work properly.)
As well, officially Xaman does not support tablets such as Apple iPads. While you may be able to install and run Xaman on some versions, our UI has not been upscaled to match the various screen sizes and most tablets do not support NFC.
Finally, we have encountered issues with the following devices:
On the Samsung A50, A51, Samsung A71 and Motorola One Action phones, there are known issues on Android 10. After updating to Android 11 the Samsung A51 and A71 will work just fine.
There are known NFC issues with Android devices by Nokia, like the Nokia 8.1. If you intended to use Xumm (Tangem) card on these phone, the cards will not work.
Installing Xaman is a simple and straightforward process. From start to finish it should take you about 10 minutes to complete.. but don’t rush through it! You are going to need to write down some very important information, so take your time, grab a pen and some paper and get comfortable. Together we going to go through this...

Try to avoid using a simple passcode such as 123456, 000000, 111111, 222222, etc. since these could be easily guessed.
You will see the Biometric Authentication screen next. Here you can choose Yes if you would like to be given the option to sign into Xaman using biometrics and/or sign transactions using biometrics. If you are unsure about this, you can always enable this feature later.
On this screen, you get the option to enable push notifications on your phone. If you are unsure about this, you can always enable the feature later.

How to add a Xaman card
If you are reading this article, you have probably just received your new Xaman Cards and are eager to get them setup and configured properly.
Most people will want to configure one of the cards as a "backup" card. This is an excellent idea because it ensures that if something were to happen to one of the cards, the other card could be used to access the assets in the account.
In order to configure a backup card, you must import two cards into Xaman.
That means that you will need to go through the following steps twice, once for each card.
If you decide to not import two cards into Xaman, you will not be able to run the Tangem Backup xApp or configure a backup card.
1) From the main screen of Xaman, press the Settings button, choose Accounts, then press the the + Add account button.
You should see this screen:
2) Choose Add Tangem card then hold one of the cards up to the NFC reader on your phone.
You should see this message:
3) Tap Generate account then hold the card against the NFC reader on your phone again.
4) Xaman will ask you test the card. Press the Verify button.
5) After you have scanned the card, Xaman will display the r-address that the card belongs to. Press the Confirm button.
6) Enter the account label for the card then press the Next button.
You have successfully imported one of your aman Cards into Xaman!🥳
If you are planning to configure a backup card, you are going to need to repeat all of the steps above with a second card. If you do not import a second card, you will not be able to configure a backup card.
If your plan is to configure a backup card, only one of the cards will need to be activated. The second card does not need to be activated with 10 XRP.
This article explains how this works:
About importing your existing XRP Ledger account
You can import an XRP Ledger account in either of these two modes: Full access - Choose this option if you would like to be able to interact with your XRPL account. ie. if you would like to create a Trust Line or send XRP to another account.
Read only access - Choose this option if you would like to simply follow the activity of an XRPL account. This option does not allow you to sign transactions on your account.
Most people choose to import their accounts with Full access so they can interact with the XRP Ledger.
As well, Xumm is compatible with all industry standard account secrets. Choose the appropriate one which applies to your account.
If you have a Xumm (Tangem) card, this article explains how to import it:
If you have access to your old CasinoCoin wallet secret in the form of a code that starts with a lower case s, you can import your CasinoCoin wallet secret .
If you do not have your CasinoCoin secret mentioned above, the CasinoCoin team has documented a process to access accounts created during the CSC swap. You can find the instructions here:

Enter the secret numbers for your account using the buttons and press the Next button when complete.
Next you should see the following screen:
The following table should help you decide which option is best for you.
Once you decide, select it and press Next then enter the account label and press Next to complete the import process.

How to import an XRP Ledger account in Read Only mode
You can import an XRP Ledger account in either of these two modes: Full access - Choose this option if you would like to be able to interact with your XRPL account. ie. if you would like to create a Trust Line or send XRP to another account.
Read only access - Choose this option if you would like to simply follow the activity of an XRPL account. This option does not allow you to sign transactions on your account.
Most people choose to import their accounts with Full access but if you are interested in just monitoring an account's activity, you can import in Read only mode.
1) Launch Xaman then press the Settings button, choose Accounts then press the + Add account button.
You should see this screen:
2) Press the Import an existing account button.
3) Select Read only then press Next.
4) Enter the r-address of the account you would like to import then press Next.
5) Enter the label of the account then press Next.
Importing an XRPL account created on a hardware wallet
It is important to understand what this process does because it changes the access to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) account managed by a hardware wallet.
Hardware wallets are largely about long term storage of assets. A hardware wallet stores the private keys for an XRPL account on a device that is not connected to the internet. The hardware wallet can only sign transactions on an XRPL account if the hardware device is physically present. Storing your private keys offline limits some potential attack vectors on your account.
Xaman (formerly Xumm) is largely about enabling interaction with the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Xaman stores the private keys for an XRPL account on a mobile device, which is connected to the internet.
It allows you to sign transactions on your XRPL account on your phone. By storing your private keys on a device that is 'online', it exposes your account to other types of potential attack vectors.
By following these instructions, you will be able to access all of your XRPL assets stored in your hardware wallet using Xaman. This means that you will not exclusively need your hardware wallet to access your XRP. You will be able to access it with Xaman in addition to being able to access it with your hardware wallet.
We strongly recommend you read this article before continuing:
1) On your phone, create a new Full-Access XRP Ledger account in Xaman.
1.1) It is not necessary to fund (activate) this account as all it will do is sign transactions.
2) Press the Show account QR button. You should see a screen that looks like this:
4) Sign into XRPToolkit.com with your hardware wallet then choose the Account menu and select Signers.
5) In the Assign Regular Key section, press the QR code button in the Regular Key field, then scan the QR code from Xaman on your phone. (The one from Step 2 above.)
Alternatively, you can manually enter your Xaman r-address in the Regular key field.
7) Sign the transaction with your hardware wallet.
8) On your phone, import your XRPL account created on your hardware wallet into Xaman in read only mode.
Importing your hardware wallet account into Xaman in read only mode does not require entering your mnemonic (private key) into Xaman. It only requires that you enter your r-address (public key).
If you successfully followed the above instructions, you are able to sign transactions on your hardware wallet account, using the new XRPL account created in Xaman.
This only works if both accounts are in Xaman. Xaman will see that the read-only account has a Regular Key assigned and offer the option to use the Regular Key to sign transactions for the read-only account if the Regular Key account is also in Xaman.
Since you imported the hardware wallet account into Xaman in read only mode, the private key was not brought 'online' and still remains on your hardware wallet.

How to send tokens to your XRP Ledger account managed by Xaman
Introduction
If you are new to Xaman (formerly Xumm), it can be a little bit confusing to understand what all the buttons and features do. Trust us when we say, it does get easier after a little bit of practice! 😉
This article talks about how to send funds using Xaman.
The first thing to know is that all tokens issued on the XRP Ledger use the same r-address to send and receive as XRP does.
For example, if you want send XRP to your account, you would send it to your r-address. In Xaman you can find your r-address here:
The second thing to know as that you can not receive tokens unless you have configured a Trust Line for those tokens.
In our case, we have one Trust Line configured in our account:
XAH (Xahau)
You can see it here:
The final thing, which might be the most important thing, is that you should never send tokens to the token issuing account. If you do that, you will destroy them. (More on this later.)
Let's go through an example of how it works.
We want to receive a token in our account. In this case, we want to receive Euro tokens (EUR) issued by GateHub. The problem is that we do not have a Trust Line configured in our account for EUR so we can not receive them. We need to create one.
Here's how to do that:
After we follow the instructions in the above article, we now have two Trust Lines configured. Here is how Xaman looks after we create the EUR Trust Line.
Now, in our case, let’s say we had another XRPL account and we wanted to send tokens to it. For example, CasinoCoin (CSC), we would send the tokens the same r-address as we would if we were sending XRP. (In this case, rstargateUoNLmD683...)
…and we wanted to send a different token to our account, maybe, Sologenic (SOLO) or Coreum (CORE) or Elysium (ELS), we would still use the our same r-address. (Again, in this case, rstargateUoNLmD683...)
Keep in mind, in all of the above examples, the relevant Trust Line would need to be setup before the token will show as an asset in the destination account.
For more information how to create a Trust Line, check out this article:
In order to receive and hold a particular XRP Ledger token, (there are over 8200 of them), you need to create a Trust Line to their project.
Let’s look at the CasinoCoin (CSC) project for example.
The CasinoCoin project issued the CSC token back in March of 2021 from this r-address:
rCSCManTZ8ME9EoLrSHHYKW8PPwWMgkwr
If you would like to hold CSC tokens in your account, you will need to create a Trust Line to their issuing account.
When you create a Trust Line, you are basically saying that you have researched their project and are satisfied that they are a trustworthy company.
For more information about Trust Lines and how they work, check out this link:
One final note, you should never send tokens back to an issuing account. Doing this will destroy them. If you are unsure about this, please contact us to discuss.
How to send tokens from your XRP Ledger account managed by Xaman
Sending tokens from Xaman (formerly Xumm) is a very easy process. In fact, sending tokens is one of its primary functions! Here is how it's done...
From the main screen in Xaman, press the Send button.
On the next screen, you will see the option to enter the amount you would like to send.
(You can also change the account you would like to send the tokens from and you can change the type of token you would like to send.)
In our case, we are going to send 1 XRP from our account.
Press the Next button to continue.
In this screen you can enter the recipient's account that you are sending your tokens to.
Keep in mind, there are two types of accounts on the XRPL.
Self custodial accounts - You are solely responsible for managing your private keys.
Custodial accounts - A company is responsible for managing the private keys to their account. (Usually a crypto exchange.) You are assigned an account number with the exchange called a destination tag.
Both types of accounts will have an r-address but a custodial account will also require a destination tag. (More about destination tags later.)
Press Next after you have entered/selected the correct destination r-address.
Finally we reach the Summary screen. Here you can review your transaction to make sure it is correct.
If you are sending to a self-custodial account, you can simply Slide to send and your transaction will be sent to the XRP Ledger to process.
However, if you are sending to a custodial account, (ie. an exchange account) this where you would enter your destination tag.
Remember, self-custodial accounts, like the ones managed with Xaman do not require destination tags. Only custodial accounts require them.
You may have noticed that most crypto exchanges have one receiving r-address for all of their XRP customers? Have you ever wondered how thousands of customers can use just one XRP account?
When you create an account with a crypto exchange, they issue you a customer account on their internal database. They also create a destination tag which points to your new customer account and they provide you with their XRP Ledger account which you can send and receive XRP. You do not own their XRPL account. They have complete control over it. Since thousands of customers are sending funds to and from the same XRPL account, the only way they can tell which funds belong to which customer is by the destination tag included in each transaction.
If you would like to learn a bit more about destination tags, check out this video:
The Memo field is a location where you can add additional information to a transaction. For example, you might be paying an invoice and you would like to include an invoice number in your transaction. You could add the invoice number in the Memo field.
There are cases where you might want to prove that you own your XRPL account. (ie. Perhaps a crypto exchange or a bank is asking for proof that it is your account.) You could agree to send them a transaction and include a word or phrase that you and the bank agree on in the transaction. You would put the word or phrase in the Memo field.
There are also cases where you might have sent funds to a wrong account and you would like to try to contact the account owner and ask them to return your funds. You could write a short message in the Memo field and explain that the funds were sent by mistake and you would be very happy if they returned your funds to you.
But, please note, the Memo field is not for a destination tag. There is a separate field for destination tags. (As explained above.)
All about the BTC Direct service
BTC Direct is a crypto on-ramp/off-ramp service provider which offers the ability to purchase XRP with EUR and sell XRP for EUR directly through an xApp in Xaman.
BTC Direct can be found by pressing the xApps button at the bottom of the main screen, then scrolling through the list of xApps until you find BTC Direct.
or by going through out Buy/Sell xApp here:
When you first launch the BTC Direct xApp, you have agree to the terms of service.
then you'll be presented with the main purchase screen:
Tap the Buy button and you should be presented with this screen:
Note:
There is a 30 Euro minimum purchase limit.
Any purchase over 50 Euros will require you to go through a verification process.
There are several payment methods:
Any purchase over 50 EUR will require that you create an account with BTC Direct and go through the KYC process. This is normal and is part of the EU regulations for crypto sales.
You sent XRP to your exchange account and it did not arrive
TL;DR Contact your crypto exchange. They will be able to resolve this for you.
In order to send XRP into an exchange account, you need to know two pieces of information:
the correct exchange r-address to send the funds to
the destination tag for your exchange account
Both of these are provided by your crypto exchange.
For more information about destination tags, check out this video:
The main reasons why funds do not arrive are:
There was no destination tag entered in the transaction
There was an incorrect destination tag entered in the transaction
You can check this in Xumm under the Events section.
When you review the transaction, make sure the destination tag was entered correctly.
If both the destination r-address and destination tag are both correct and the funds still have not arrived in your exchange account, it is most likely related to one of the following situations:
your exchange has not processed that transaction on their side
possible technical issues or a processing backlog at the exchange
the exchange are withholding your funds.
They only way to recover your funds is to contact your crypto exchange.
They will have process for you to follow and should provide you with the step by step instructions.
Some exchanges require proof of a transaction which includes a screenshot showing:
the destination address
the destination amount
the date
the transaction ID/Hash
If you are required to provide this information, here is how to get it in Xumm.
1) Launch Xumm, press Settings -> Security -> Block taking screenshots
2) Exit the Settings screen and press the Events button on the main screen of Xumm.
3) The Event list is a live view of the transactions on the XRP Ledger. Search through the list and choose the transaction where you sent the funds to your crypto exchange. It might look something like this:
You can clearly see the date, destination address, Transaction ID, and destination tag in the above image.
4) At this point you can take a screenshot of the transaction as it will contain all of the information your exchange requires.
Once Xumm submits a transaction to the XRP Ledger for processing, there is nothing that can be done to change or reverse it. For more information about this, check out this article:
How to send XRP to your XRP Ledger account managed by Xaman
Introduction
If you are new to Xaman (formerly Xumm), it can be a little bit confusing to understand what all the buttons and features do. Trust us when we say, it does get easier after a little bit of practice! 😉
This article talks about how to send XRP from another XRP Ledger (XRPL) account to your XRPL account managed by Xaman.
The first thing to know is that your XRPL account is identified by an "r-address'.
Here is where you can find you r-address in Xaman.
Your r-address basically is your account number on the XRP Ledger. It is the address that you will send your XRP to.
You should also know that there are two types of accounts on the XRPL.
Self custodial accounts - All accounts managed by Xaman are self custodial accounts. (After all, Xaman is a self custodial wallet.) With a self custodial account, you are solely responsible for managing your private keys.
Custodial accounts - A company is responsible for managing the private keys to their account. (Usually a crypto exchange.) You are provided an account address from the exchange and a (unique to your exchange) destination tag.
Destination Tags are usually required when using exchanges. Some exchanges give a different Destination Tag for each transaction. Some exchanges re-use the same Destination Tag for all transactions for your account. make sure you know how your exchange works.
Since this article talks about how to send XRP to your XRPL account managed by Xaman, you will not need a destination tag.
See this article for more details about Destination Tags:
This is how to send XRP from another device with Xaman installed on it, to your XRPL account managed by Xaman. (For instructions on how to send from various crypto exchanges, see the links below.)
From the main screen in Xaman, press the Send button.
On the next screen, you will see the option to enter the amount you would like to send.
(You can also change the account you would like to send the tokens from and you can change the type of token you would like to send.)
In our case, we are going to send 1 XRP.
Press the Next button to continue.
In this screen you can enter the recipient's account that you are sending your tokens to.
Press Next after you have entered/selected the correct destination r-address.
Finally we reach the Summary screen. Here you can review your transaction to make sure it is correct.
After you have confirmed the parameters (destination r-address, amount) are correct, simply Slide to send and your transaction will be sent to the XRP Ledger to process.
Each crypto exchange will have their own instructions for sending XRP.
In the table below, you can find instructions for some of the more popular exchanges.
Xaman On/Off-Ramp
In December 2022, we introduced our Xumm On/Off Ramp Service allowing our Pro users who lived in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom to move fiat currency to and from the XRP Ledger.
Xaman Pro (formerly Xumm Pro) users could quickly and efficiently send fiat currency (Euros) from their traditional bank account to their Xaman account for conversion into XRP.
Introducing this service was a bold initiative, primarily because of the high compliance demands which were both extensive and expensive.
Alas, our On/Off Ramp service was not meant be.
A number of factors forced us to discontinue it:
1) The regulatory landscape in the crypto industry has made it very difficult (and expensive) to offer fiat exchange services. Almost all countries have released new regulations related to crypto and while we welcome regulations, we have not been able to reach the scale required to offer our services in a cost efficient way.
2) The profit margins on our exchange rates were so low, it required a large quantity of transactions in order make our service viable in this competitive sector. The XRP Ledger community is just not big enough to support the type of service we were offering.
3) Our focus on the XRP ecosystem meant a smaller and more focused user base. Crypto exchanges often cater to dozens or even hundreds of different blockchains. Our commitment solely to the XRP Ledger severely limited the number of potential users. When considering the costs involved compared to the limited scale of our ecosystem, it just does not work.
Overall, the lack of growth in the ecosystem, combined with the regulatory landscape and increasing expenses, do not allow us to keep on offering our On/Off Ramp service.
We'd like to say that we are very proud of having launched and run our on/off ramp service. We are the smallest crypto company to ever have successfully gone through the on ramp service registration process with the Netherlands central bank. That is not a small accomplishment.
We would also like to thank all of our users who supported us through this venture. We did this to make the community
There is a silver lining to this unfortunate turn of events...
We have increased our collaborations with our On Ramp partners like to streamline and further integrate Xaman with their platform. As well, in the coming months, we plan to bring on another On ramp partner for you to pick from. (We certainly don't want you to be left without any options!)
Effective immediately, anyone attempting to sign up with our Xaman On/Off Ramp Service (XOORS) will receive the following message:
You will not be able to enroll, but you will be directed to our on ramp partners.
Any funds that are now sent to a XOORS account will be rejected by our banking institution and will be returned to the sending account. The return process can take up to 10 business days. If you have sent funds to your XOORS account, please contact your bank and have them either cancel the transaction or monitor the transaction for the return funds.
Importing your account secret might not make sense
Xaman (formerly Xumm) is an excellent application for making payments on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), interacting with the XRPL ecosystem and for safely storing your private keys. For many people, moving their existing XRPL accounts over to Xaman seems like a good idea. Xaman is convenient, easy to use, and very secure, so why not import your account into Xaman to take advantage of all its features...?
Hardware wallets are largely about long term storage of your assets.
A hardware wallet stores the private keys for an XRP Ledger account on a device that is not connected to the internet. Transactions can only be signed on the XRPL account if the signer is in possession of the hardware device. Storing private keys 'offline' limits some potential attack vectors on an account.
Xaman is largely about enabling interaction with the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
Xaman stores the private keys for an XRP Ledger account on a mobile device. (Which is presumably connected to the internet at various times.) It allows a user to sign transactions on their XRPL account via their phone. By storing private keys on a device that is 'on line', it exposes an account to other types of potential attack vectors.
Any time private keys are entered into any software there are potential risks. Spyware, malware, key-loggers, screen capture software, viruses, and many more attack vectors can come into play when entering your private keys.
If you are planning on importing an existing XRPL account into Xaman, please take the time to consider some of the risks associated with doing this.
This section asks questions which are intended to make you think about the nature of your XRPL account, how it was created and how private keys are stored. If you are not sure what the answers are to some of them, contact your current wallet and ask them. You should have a general understanding of these concepts before you import your account into any software application. (or hardware device)
Do you trust the company/service that generated the keys?
What was the source of entropy that was used to generate your keys?
Has that source been audited?
Can your keys be viewed using your current wallet?
Was you account managed by a previous wallet?
Are your private keys stored online? (ie. in a "cloud backup"?)
Which encryption method was used to store your keys?
Are you planning to participate in the XRP Ledger community?
Do you want to be able to access your hardware wallet account using Xaman?
While importing private keys into Xaman is certainly easy to do, you should consider why you are taking the risk of importing them into Xaman when there is a much safer option...🤔
Accounts generated by Xaman use a world-class algorithm to generate a set of eight, six-digit Secret Numbers used to access the account. Our algorithm has been audited and tested hundreds of thousands of times. You can trust that your Secret Numbers will not be duplicated by any other software or service.
Xaman only displays the account secret once, when an account is generated. There is no way to access or view it after it is initially displayed. No one, other than you will ever see the account secret after the account is created.
If something were to ever go wrong, it is much easier to narrow down the source of the issue if the account was generated in Xaman.
Consider the reason why you want to do this. For most hardware wallets, the main selling feature is that they generate and store the private keys for an account 'off line'. This means that an XRPL account managed by a hardware wallet is protected from some potential attack vectors.
By importing your hardware wallet account into Xaman, you are bringing your private keys into a software wallet (Xaman) which is 'on line'. (ie. Xaman is installed on a mobile device which is most likely connected to the internet at various times throughout the day.) Doing this will negate the main selling feature of your hardware wallet. Are you sure this is what you want to do?
If so, this article explains how to do this:
Rather than importing your private key for your hardware wallet account directly into Xaman, it is possible to create a second XRPL account, configure a regular key it, then import your hardware wallet account into Xaman in 'read only' mode. Doing this keeps your secret keys 'offline" but still allows signing access to your account.
As long as you understand that doing this will allow you to access your hardware wallet account directly using Xaman, this is a better option than entering your private key into Xaman.
A regular key will "link" your hardware wallet account to a second XRPL account that will be managed by Xaman. This second XRPL account will not contain any funds and does not need to be activated with 10 XRP, but it will allow you to sign transactions on your hardware wallet account using Xaman.
This means you will have full and direct access to your hardware wallet account with Xaman and you will not need your physical hardware wallet to access the account.
If this is what you would like to do, here are the instructions:
The XRPL accounts that were created during the CasinoCoin swap used a process that some people might find a little difficult to understand. If you ever need to import one of those accounts, there is a special set of instructions to assist you:
How to convert a Read only account to Full access
In Xaman it is possible to import an account in Full access mode or Read only mode.
In Full access mode, you can interact with your XRP Ledger. ie. if you would like to create a Trust Line or send XRP to another account.
In Read only mode you can follow the activity of an XRPL account but not sign transactions on the account.
If you have imported an account in Read only mode and would like to convert it into Full access mode, (so you can sign transactions), this article explains how to do this.
1) Launch Xaman then press the Settings button, choose Accounts then press the Edit button beside the account you would like to convert.
2) Tap the Access level option...
then choose Full access.
3) Press Yes, I'm sure.
4) Choose the account secret type for your account.
Note: Xaman is compatible with all industry standard account secrets. When you created your XRP Ledger account you would have received one of them. You need to have the correct account secret for your account.
From here, get your account secret then choose the appropriate path and follow the instructions to complete the import process.
How to buy XRP using Xaman
We offer several easy ways to purchase XRP from the Xaman (formerly Xumm) platform. Take a minute to read through the following options and determine which one best meets your needs.
We have partnered with several crypto exchanges including: Topper, Banxa, BTCDirect,, Guardarian and C14 which all offer the option to purchase XRP.
Our partners offer exchange services to most countries around the world. If you are interested in determining which exchange provides services in your country, simply tap the following link:
then select your country or currency by pressing the down arrow.
Xaman will list the exchanges that you can purchase XRP from.
There are several crypto exchanges in the blockchain space which sell XRP. Some of the bigger players include:
Please make sure that you thoroughly research the crypto exchange that you decide to purchase from. Each exchange has their own rules and fee structures that you should fully understand before signing up.
Furthermore, just because we have provided a list of exchanges, it does not mean that we support or endorse any of them in any way. It is entirely up to you to decide which crypto exchange you use.
Yes, but unfortunately it has been discontinued.
Please ensure that r-address that is displayed is the one that you intend to import. If it is not correct, please press the button, then double check and re-enter your secret numbers. When the correct r-address is displayed, press the Confirm button.
3) Get your hardware wallet, go to a computer and select this link to go to .
Of course, your r-address will be different than our r-address. Our account is a .
Of course, your r-address will be different than our r-address. Our account is a .
The safest way to protect your funds is to using Xaman, then move your assets to your new account. There are a number of benefits to doing this:
After a new account is generated, the and immediately stored in Xaman. The algorithm we use to encrypt it is exceptionally secure.
The XRP Ledger is a decentralized blockchain. Part of that means, that no single person, entity, group or company has control over it. Once data has been saved on the XRP Ledger, it can not be modified or altered by anyone. All transactions on the XRPL are final and permanent.
The XRP Ledger does not have any administrative functions built into it, so there is no way for Xaman or anyone else to modify or change a transaction.
Xaman is an application that allows you to interact with the XRP Ledger and helps you manage your XRP Ledger account. It does not have administrative privileges on the XRPL.
While Xaman is one of the many companies that runs a validator on the XRPL, that does not entitle us to any special privileges or network access.
Per the Xrpl.org website:
"Consensus is the most important property of any decentralized payment system. In traditional centralized payment systems, one authoritative administrator gets the final say in how and when payments occur.
Decentralized systems, by definition, don't have an administrator to do that. Instead, decentralized systems like the XRP Ledger define a set of rules all participants follow, so every participant can agree on the exact same series of events and their outcome at any point in time. We call this set of rules a "consensus protocol."
It depends on the circumstances regarding your transaction.
If you sent funds to a crypto exchange and they did not arrive. Contact your crypto exchange and explain the details of the transaction. Most exchanges have a process that you will need to go through to redirect your funds to the correct location.
If you accidently sent your funds to the wrong r-address Contact the destination address and see if they will send the funds back. Do this by sending a small payment (.000001 XRP) to the account with a polite message in the memo field asking them to return the funds.
If your account was compromised and your funds were stolen. Contact your local police. They should conduct an investigation into the matter.
If you lost the account secret for your account or your account is in "Read only" mode. Try to locate your account secret (secret numbers, family seed, mnemonic) for your account. (The only way to access an account is if you have the account secret.) If you still have signing access to your account on your phone, (or perhaps on an old phone), you can create a new XRP Ledger account using Xumm (Settings -> Accounts -> + Add account -> Create a new account), then move your funds over to your new account using the Send feature on the main page. By creating a new account, you will get a new set of secret numbers which you can use to access your account on your phone.
Standard security is a great option your daily spending account. You can sign with your 6 digit passcode or enable biometrics and sign with your face/finger print.
Extra security allows you to enter a separate signing password. This is the best option for your long term storage account.
Wirex
I can not find my Secret numbers / Family seed / Mnemonic
Have you ever heard the saying,
"Not your keys, not your crypto"
On the XRP Ledger, an account secret is the private key to your XRPL account. It is how you get full access your XRPL account.
An account secret comes in three main forms:
Secret numbers - If you created your XRP Ledger account using Xaman (formerly Xumm), you would have received a set of secret numbers consisting of 8 rows, (A-H), each with 6 digits.
Family Seed - A 29 character string of numbers and letters starting with the letter "s".
A typical family seed looks something like this:
sn3e4r5t6ygtfr5tgy6tr4edse3wq
Mnemonic - A set of 12, 16 or 24 words chosen from the BIP 39 list.
Xaman is fully compatible with all three account secret formats.
The XRP Ledger is a decentralized network. It does not have any administrator functions. It does not have any 'back doors' which allows access to an account. There is no 'secret way' to access an XRPL account. They only way to get full access an XRPL account is with the correct account secret. An account secret is important because it is the only thing that will allow you to get full access to an XRPL account.
No.
Xaman does not have the ability to display or recover an account secret. It was designed specifically to NOT display them just in case your phone was ever stolen or compromised.
You can read more about this here:
Are you able to access your XRPL account on your mobile device and you can you still sign transactions on your account?
If so, you can create a new XRP Ledger account using Xaman then move your assets over to the new account. Here's how to do this:
1) Press Settings then Accounts.
2) Choose + Add account then Create a new account
3) Once you have completed the steps (and written down your new secret numbers), you can activate it with 10 XRP, then start moving your assets over to your new account using the Send feature on the main page of Xaman.
Note: You will need to create Trust Lines for any tokens you might have and arrange to move any NFTs with your NFT platform.
By creating a new account, you will get a new set of secret numbers which you can use to access your account on your phone.
Do you have an old phone or mobile device which still has signing access to your account. Does anyone else have signing access to your account? (Family member) If so, you can run through the steps in Option 1 to create a new account.
If you used another wallet to create your XRP Ledger account, it is possible that they might have a recovery option or utility to recover your account secret. You can try contacting them and see if they have any options for accessing your account secret.
If your account was created during the Casino Coin swap, there is a special set of instructions for recovering an account. Check out this article for more information:
Option 5 - Someone else knows your account secret.
Have you shared your account secret with anyone? (Family member?) Was anyone else with you when you created your XRPL account? If so, do they have a copy of your account secret? If they do, you can use it to access your account.
Option 6 - You have configured a backup account.
One of the features on the XRP Ledger is the ability to configure a "regular key" on an account.
The XRP Ledger allows an account to authorize a secondary key pair, called a regular key pair, to sign future transactions on an account. If you have configured a regular key on your account, you can still access the account using the regular key account.
The XRP Ledger is a decentralized network. There is no central authority for you to prove your identity to. The KYC process has nothing to do with the private keys to your XRP Ledger account. When you go through the KYC process it does not 'link' your personal information to your private keys nor does it grant you access to your XRPL account. The only way to access an XRP Ledger account is if you know the private keys (account secret) for it.
Banks and crypto exchanges offer 'custodial' accounts.
For example, if you were to open an account with a crypto exchange, you would go through the KYC process and they would create a record in their internal database containing all of your personal information. They would then create an account on their internal systems and assign you a password to access it. If you ever lost your password for your account with them, they would go into their company database and simply change it for you. They can do that because they created your account. They control your account. They control your personal information. They have full custody of your funds and have complete control over them.
Self custody accounts on the XRP Ledger do not work that way.
When you create an XRPL account, you do not have to go through KYC. You do not have to provide personal information about yourself. You are interacting directly with the XRP Ledger. There are no internal databases. No records of your personal information. No centralized authority. No 'middle men'. It is just you and the XRP Ledger. Xaman is an application which allows you to interact with the XRP Ledger by managing your account secret. It does not have access to your account.
If you import your account secret into Xaman and you get a different r-address, you actually imported another XRPL account that has not been activated, and does not contain your balance and tokens.
The only way to get full access to your account, is by importing the correct account secret.
Importing the correct account secret into Xaman will always result in the same r-address, with balance and tokens in place.
Xaman is just an interface to the XRP Ledger.
When you enter an account secret into Xaman, it provides you access to the XRPL account that the account secret belongs to. Xaman can only access the account that the account secret belongs to.
Imagine a big apartment building with about 340 undecillion apartments in it. Each apartment has a lock on the door and there is only one key that opens that lock. When you create an XRP Ledger account, you basically get the one and only key to one of those apartments. There are many other keys that fit other apartments, but your key is the only one that fits your apartment. When you enter your account secret into Xaman, it searches through all 340 undecillion apartments and finds the only apartment which your key opens. Your key will not open any other apartments. It will only open one apartment. Xaman can not open another apartment with your key. It can only open the apartment that the key belongs to.
Consider the possibility that there is another account secret for your account.

How to create a Trust Line on the XRP Ledger
There are two easy ways to create Trust line using Xaman:
1) Selecting one of the pre-vetted tokens from our short list
2) Visiting XRPL.Services and sign using Xaman
The "short list" is the list of tokens that is presented when you press the +Add button on the main screen of Xaman.
Xaman will display a screen that looks like this:
From here you can simply select an issuer, for example, Gatehub, then choose which token you would like to create a Trust line for, in this case, we'll choose the Euro, then press Sign to add Token.
Xaman will craft a transaction with the details of the Trust line and after you have reviewed them, you can Slide to accept.
You should see a warning message cautioning you about the potential dangers. Make sure you read the message, then press Continue.
Finally, either enter your passcode/signing password/biometrics to sign the transaction and the Trust line will be created.
XRPL.Services is a website which allows you to interact with the XRP Ledger in various ways and to easily create transactions that you can sign with Xaman.
In this case, you can use it to create a Trust line.
1) Click on this link: XRPL Services
2) In the "Search" field, do a search for the token you wish to set a Trust line to.
3) When the desired token is displayed, press the Set Trustline link beside the token.
4) Press the Confirm button.
5) Press the Open in the Xaman app button.
6) Sign into Xaman.
7) Review the transaction to make sure it is correct.
8) Slide to sign.
1) Click on this link: XRPL Services
2) In the "Search" field, do a search for the token you wish to set a Trust line to.
3) When the desired token is displayed, press the Set Trustline link beside the token.
4) Press the Confirm button.
5) Press the Open in the Xumm App button.
6) Sign into Xaman.
7) Review the transaction to make sure it is correct.
8) Slide to sign.
On the XRP Ledger, a private key is called an account secret.
An account secret comes in three main forms:
If your XRP Ledger account was created using Xumm, you would have received a set of secret numbers. (8 rows, A-H, each with 6 digits)
A 29 character string of numbers and letters starting with the letter "s".
A typical family seed looks something like this:
sn3e4r5t6ygtfr5tgy6tr4edse3wq
A set of 12, 16 or 24 words chosen from the BIP 39 list.
Each account on the XRPL will have its own account secret and in order to access that account, you need to know the correct account secret.
Xumm does not display account secrets.
Once your account secret has been imported into Xumm, it is immediately encrypted and there is no way to access, view or export it. In the case of the secret numbers, they were only displayed once so if they are lost or destroyed, there is no way to access the account they belong to.
If your XRPL account was created in an application other than Xumm, (e.g. - website, application, wallet), it is possible that there is a way to view or access the account secrets, but it would depend on if they have some kind of backup or recovery method.
When you first activate a Xumm (Tangem) card, an account secret is generated on the card. There is no opportunity to view the account secret and it is not displayed. It is encrypted on the card and can not be viewed.
Once you enter your account secret into Xumm, it is encrypted so you can trust that no one, not you, not us, not anyone can view it. We choose not to display your account secret because there are several scenarios where displaying your account secret could be dangerous (think compromised phone, malware, viruses, malicious apps, spyware, etc.) Our main focus is protecting your assets and one of the ways we do this is by not displaying your account secret under any circumstances.
Depending on how you created your XRPL account, it is possible that the website or application that you used might have kept a copy of your account secret or has the ability to recover it. You can try to contact them and see if they have a recovery option.
Accounts that were created during the CasinoCoin swap used a slightly different method of generating an account secret. You can read all about this here:
We have an article that explains your options. You can review it here:
How to enable the Master Key
In order to disable the master key for an XRP Ledger account, you must configure another way to sign on your account. The process to do this is called, 'setting a regular key'. You must set a regular key before you are able to disable the master key on an account.
For example:
In this case, you can see that a separate account (ra433z72...) has been configured to sign for the main account. (rGVTc5FPz....)
1) Go to XRPL.services
5) On the XRP Ledger Services page, select Account Set.
6) Choose Disable Master Key, then press the Send Account Settings to Xumm button.
7) Sign the transaction in Xaman and you're all done!
8) Your Master Key should now be enabled.
How to rekey an XRPL account
The XRP Ledger allows an account to authorize a secondary key pair, called a , to sign transactions on behalf of another account.
It is often used to protect an account by securing the master key and using the regular key in its place. This has multiple advantages;
The primary account is safer because the master key does not need to be generally available
The regular key account does not need to be activated so has no value in and of itself
The regular key can be removed or swapped out as needed
A good example of how this works would be to look at the recommended configuration of a pair of .
In this case, you have a Primary account on one card and you have a Signing account on another card.
When you run the , it creates a "link" between the two accounts which is called a regular key pair. It connects the Primary account to the Signing account which allows you to sign transactions on the Primary account using the Signing account.
The following steps explain how to manually configure a regular key pair between two XRPL accounts.
The Primary account must be imported into Xaman (formerly Xumm) with Full access. (You must be able to sign transactions on this account.)
This is the account that will have your XRP, your Trust Lines, Escrows, DEX transactions, etc.
If you are new to Xaman and don't have an XRP Ledger account yet, you can create one by following the instructions in this article:
The Signing account must be imported into Xaman with Full access. (You must be able to sign transactions on this account.)
This account does not need to contain XRP and does not even need to be activated. As long as you have full access to the account, it can be used to sign transactions on the Primary account.
If you don't have signing account yet, you can create one by following the instructions in this article:
Once you have completed the following steps, you will be able to sign transactions on your Primary account using both your Primary account and your Signing account.
1) Launch Xaman and switch accounts to your Signing account.
2) Press the Request button then press the Copy button.
5) On the XRP Ledger Services page, select Set Regular Key
6) In the field below paste the r-address for the Signing account, then press the Send Set Regular Key to Xumm button.
7) Sign the transaction in Xaman and you're all done!
Now when you look at your Signing account, notice how Xaman now reports "Regular key for Primary Acct".
If you configured the regular key so you would have a second signing account (E.g. as a "backup" account) you are all set to go. You should be able to sign transactions on your Primary Account with either your Signing account or your Primary account.
...but if you configured the regular key because your Primary account has been compromised, you are only half way there. The next step is to disable the master key for your Primary account.
This article explains how to proceed:
How to migrate from Toast Wallet to Xaman
The information contained in this article is provided on a "best efforts" basis. We do not provide technical support for Toast wallet.
Any time private keys are entered into any software there are potential risks. Spyware, malware, key-loggers, screen capture software, viruses, and many more attack vectors can come into play when viewing or entering your private keys.
If you are considering moving your account into Xaman, the safest way to protect your funds is to using Xaman, then move your assets from your XRPL account managed by Toast wallet, over to your new account managed by Xaman.
There are a number of benefits to doing this:
Accounts generated by Xaman use a world-class algorithm to generate a set of eight, six-digit Secret Numbers used to access the account. Our algorithm has been audited and tested hundreds of thousands of times. You can trust that your Secret Numbers will not be duplicated by any other software or service.
Xaman only displays the account secret once, when an account is generated. There is no way to access or view it after it is initially displayed. No one, other than you will ever see the account secret after the account is created.
After a new account is generated, the and immediately stored in Xaman. The algorithm we use to encrypt it is exceptionally secure.
If something were to ever go wrong, it is much easier to narrow down the source of the issue if the account was generated in Xaman.
This article assumes the following:
You have an existing XRP Ledger account managed by Toast Wallet
You know the "passphrase" for your XRP Ledger account
If you have lost your passphrase or do not have the correct one for your account, we will not be able to assist you. You must have the correct passphrase otherwise this process will not work.
1) Launch Toast wallet and sign in using your passcode.
2) Select your XRP Ledger account.
3) Select the 'Show Secret' button.
4) Enter the passphrase for your XRPL account then select 'Reveal Secret' button.
5) Copy the 'Account Secret'.
The account secret is the private key for your XRP Ledger account. It is vital that you do not share it will anyone. If someone was able to learn your account secret, they would have complete access to your XRPL account. It is very important that you store it in a safe and secure place and that no one can access it.
Note: Your account secret is displayed in the form of a 'Family Seed".
ie. shR84mcHR84mcHR84mcHHekH1seEc
You will need to know your Family seed in order to access your XRPL account in Xaman.
6) On your mobile device, launch Xaman and sign in using your 6 digit passcode or with biometrics.
7) Press the Settings button, then Accounts, then + Add account.
8) Tap the "Import an existing account" button.
9) Choose Full Access then press the Next button.
10) Select 'Family Seed" then press the Next button.
11) Enter the Family Seed for your XRPL account that you wrote down from your Toast wallet, then press the Next button.
12) Press the Confirm button.
13) Choose the desired security level. (Standard or Extra security)
14) Give you XRPL account a suitable name then press the Next button.
15) Congratulations! Your XRP Ledger account should now be imported into Xaman.
For your convenience, steps 6 through 15 have been consolidated into a separate article.

How to test/verify your Account Secret
Do you have multiple XRP Ledger accounts?
What would happen if you mixed up your account secrets (Secret numbers / Mnemonics / Family Seeds) and didn't know which one belonged to which account?
Xumm has a way for you to check!
1) Launch Xumm and press the button at the top right hand corner of the screen, then press
You should see this screen:
2) Press the Import an existing account button. You will see:
3) Press the Next button. You should see this screen:
4) Choose the Account Secret type matching the account secret that you have. (Secret numbers / Family Seed / Mnemonic) then press the Next button.
If your account is not already imported into Xumm, you will receive a screen that displays the r-address that the account secret belongs to.
Here is how to setup Xaman on your new device.
Congratulations! Getting a new phone can be exciting, but before you get started migrating everything over from your old phone, here are a couple of suggestions to make the process a little smoother...
Do not get rid of your old phone until your new phone has been properly setup and is working as expected.
Ensure that you have the account secret (Secret numbers / Family seed / Mnemonic) for your XRP Ledger account.
If you are unsure how to proceed or need clarification on any of the steps in this article, contact us via the .
The first thing you need to know about getting Xaman (formerly Xumm) working on your new device is that you can not restore or copy Xaman from one device to another. Xaman needs to be installed fresh on your new phone otherwise you will see this when you launch the app:
If you are already at this error screen, uninstall Xaman then continue reading...
To install Xaman on your new phone, you can download it from one of 2 places:
Just select one of the above links and press the Install button to begin the download.
Although the installation of Xaman is quite straight-forward and user-friendly , you can always refer to our step by step instructions...
When you get to the end of the installation, you will be presented with this screen:
Simply press the + Add account button then choose Import an existing account.
Next you can choose the appropriate account secret for your XRP Ledger account then enter it into Xaman to complete the process.
If you need assistance on how to do this, select one of these three articles for instructions:
We have seen cases where people have forgotten their account secret or recorded their account secret incorrectly. Your old phone should still be able to access your XRP Ledger account(s) in case you run into any trouble configuring your new phone. Once you are able to access and sign transactions on your new device, you can uninstall Xaman from your old device or keep it around as a "backup" just in case something happens to your new phone.
If Xaman were to store sensitive data, (like your account secrets) in a Google / Apple iCloud backup, an attacker gaining access to your Google / Apple account(s) would be able to restore a backup of your device to their own device, resulting in the loss of your cryptocurrency funds.
This is why it's really important to keep your account secret stored offline, in a secure place.
If you have Xaman cards, you will need to re-import them into Xaman on your new phone.
If you need assist doing this, check out this article:
If you do not have your CasinoCoin secret mentioned above, the CasinoCoin team has documented a process to access accounts created during the CSC swap. You can find the instructions here:
No. In order to access an XRP Ledger account, you need to know the correct account secret for it. (Secret Numbers / Family Seed / Mnemonic). As long as you have the correct one, importing the account secret into Xaman will always result in the same r-address, with the balance and tokens in place. If you import an account secret into Xaman and you get a different r-address, there are three possibilities:
it was originally written down incorrectly when you created your account
it was entered into Xaman incorrectly
there is another account secret for your XRP Ledger account
The account secret that you entered into Xaman belongs to the XRPL account that is being accessed.
Please refer to this article for more information:
2) Press the button then press Open in Xumm App and sign in with the account the you would like to enable your Master key on.
3) Switch accounts to your Primary account and go to .
4) Press the button then press Open in Xumm App and sign in.
The developer who coded Toast wallet moved on to different projects within the XRP Ledger community. He is currently working on creating Hooks on the .
5) Enter your Account Secret then press the Next button. For example, secret numbers would look like this: If your account is already imported into Xumm, you will receive the follow message:
If you have access to your old CasinoCoin wallet secret in the form of a code that starts with a lower case 's', you can import your CasinoCoin wallet secret .
If you run into any trouble with the recovery process, please contact the CasinoCoin support staff here:
Why adding / generating & confirming "Secret Numbers" is not user friendly
When importing or generating your account, you may have to enter (or confirm) your Secret Numbers. This is a time consuming and hard process. Annoying. We agree. And to make it even worse, when you go back and forth, a whole new set of numbers is generated. WHY!?
We created the Secret Numbers to replace the existing secrets like mnemonic words and the family seed (s... code), because it's equally secure and a lot less prone to errors.
The common formats for XRPL account secrets are (at the time of writing this, July 2019):
Family Seed, eg. sh1HiK7SwjS1VxFdXi7qeMHRedrYX
Mnemonic, eg. car banana apple road ...
These formats are prone to typos and not that user friendly. Using numbers means it's language (spoken, written) agnostic as well. They may be especially intimidating for the public that's relatively new to cryptocurrencies / blockchain technology.
This library encodes the entropy to generate accounts into 8 chunks of 6 digits, of which 5 digits are 1/8th of the entropy, and a 6th digit contains a checksum allowing real-time typo detection.
For compatibility with existing clients, this library supports exporting the family seed for a generated / entered "Secret Number"-set as well.
When entering Secret Numbers, XUMM starts with a random digit, each time, forcing you to go to the right digit with a Plus and Minus key, then to go to the next field.
We do this so:
A compromised keyboard cannot "sniff" the numbers you are entering
Someone looking over your shoulder can't follow it based on the position of your finger when tapping
It's just way more secure. We think the one time annoying entering is a good trade-off for a lot more security.
This leaves an open question.
If Xumm is the only app that uses Secret Numbers how are accounts created in Xumm migrated to other apps?
There is a tool to convert Xumm Secret Numbers into a standard XRP seed that is explained here.
How to quickly check the value of your XRP
If you are just looking for a quick way to check the current value of your XRP, you are in luck!
Simply tap the amount of XRP that you have on the main screen...
...and voila!
We actually created an "XRPL Price Oracle" to provide this information.
https://dev.to/wietse/aggregated-xrp-usd-price-info-on-the-xrp-ledger-1087
Anyone in the XRP Ledger community can query our Oracle to get the current XRP value, which is a weighted average from multiple exchanges.
We have an xApp called Account Worth which displays that information.
You can set the currency in Xaman by pressing Settings -> General -> Currency
Xaman is not really a trading wallet. It is more of an application for transferring value and for helping you interact with the XRP Ledger. There are many exchanges and applications which focus on trading, but not too many that specialize in the XRPL like we do.
How to add Euro tokens via GateHub
For years, GateHub has been a strong member of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) community and has worked with us (and many others) to help expand the ecosystem and make it a great place to do business. Recently we have added a feature to make on-ramping Euros a truly quick and easy process by integrating their platform directly through Xaman (formerly Xumm). This integration makes on-ramping Euros simple and efficient via the GateHub site.
GateHub is a payment gateway platform that allows you to buy, sell, trade and store digital currency. They have also issued over a dozen different tokens on the XRPL, including XAH, USDT, USDC, GALA, Flare, SGB, EUR, USD and GBP. All of their issued currencies will be honored by them as the actual asset they represent. The Euro on-ramp feature involves purchasing EUR tokens using Euros (fiat).
Check out this article for more information:
1) Open an account at GateHub and activate it with 10 XRP.
Part of the process of opening an account includes going through the KYC process. You must successfully complete this process via the GateHub registration in order for our service to work.
1) Launch Xaman and tap the Euro Trust line.
If you do not have a Euro Trust line configured for the GateHub EUR token, you can create one by following the instructions in this article:
2) Tap the Add Euro button.
3) Press the Connect GateHub Account button.
4) Sign into your GateHub account.
5) After you sign into your GateHub account, press the Open xApp in Xumm button.
6) You will see the following screen:
All about Xaman and the AMM amendment
On March 22, 2024, the AMM amendment was implemented on the XRP Ledger mainnet.
On the same day, Xaman v2.8 was released to support it.
This article answers some frequently asked questions about AMM.
Put simply, Automated Market Makers (AMMs) work by pooling two tokens together to form a liquidity pool. Each AMM holds a pool of two assets which enables users to swap between them at an exchange rate set by a formula.
For more information, here are a couple of good resources:
Beginning with version 2.8, Xaman fully supports AMM transaction signing on the XRP Ledger.
Exactly. When the NFT amendment was implemented on the XRPL, Xaman (formerly Xumm) supported transaction signing for NFT transactions.
Shortly after implementation, several NFT platforms appeared in the community providing NFT marketplaces, NFT minting, exchanges, sales, marketing, technical support, etc. These NFT platforms specialized in NFTs and many of them worked with us to create various xApps in Xaman.
In the case of the AMM amendment, there are already several companies who have created AMM user interfaces. Those interfaces will allow you to interact with the various liquidity pools on the XRPL. while we continue to focus on our area of expertise.... namely keeping your account secrets safe and secure.
AMM is still very new and while there are a few companies offering AMM user interfaces, we are going to wait and see how they manage their pools (and their users) before we offer any recommendations.
In the meantime, here's a list of companies that offer AMM interfaces:
https://dexfi.pro (link to xApp -> https://xumm.app/detect/xapp:dexfi.pro )
You are free to use whichever AMM interface you like, but please be vigilant when deciding. There are bound to be scam sites out there so make sure you do your research before choosing.
Once you have selected an AMM interface, you should work with them to learn how to it. They will have instructions on how to participate in the various liquidity pools. Try reaching out to their customer service team for specific instructions on how to do that.
Liquidity pools are not a guaranteed path to consistent income and should not be viewed as a 'get rich quick" investment. AMM's are complicated and often volatile investment instruments that can sometimes lead to passive income but other times, can lead to a complete loss of invested assets.
We strongly recommend that you seek financial advice before investing in an AMM liquidity pool. Any AMM provider that guarantees consistent passive income should be avoided.
Each country will have their own rules when calculating gains/losses related to funds invested in AMMs. It is up to you to contact a tax professional in your country to determine the necessary reporting requirements.
No, not really.
The first thing to do is to install the latest version of Xaman. Doing this will give you the ability to sign AMM transaction types on the XRPL.
Next you should do some research and investigate some of the AMM user interfaces in the community. This list above is a good starting place.
Once you have decided on one, they should have a "Getting started" guide explaining how to use their services.
You can find instructions on how create an AMM for a given asset pair:
How can I convert my XRP into fiat?
There are several options for off-ramping funds from your XRP Ledger account managed by Xaman. (formerly Xumm)
Gatehub has issued several stablecoins on the XRP Ledger. If your plan is to off-ramp fiat such as Euro, USD, GBP, etc. directly to your bank account, you can simply exchange your XRP for the desire stablecoin then send the send it to you bank via our integration with Gatehub.
Here is how:
If you are interested in converting some of your XRP into fiat, you have several options.
We have partnered with several exchanges, some of which offer off-ramp services.
All About Banxa
All About BTCDirect
All About Guardarian
Due to the changing regulations in various countries, you'll need to reach out to your preferred exchange and see if they offer off-ramp services to your region.
There are several exchanges in the blockchain space where you can convert XRP into fiat. Some of the bigger players include:
Please make sure that you thoroughly research the crypto exchange that you decide to go with. Each exchange has their own rules and fee structures that you should fully understand before signing up. As well, just because we provided a list of exchanges, it does not mean that we support or endorse any of them in any way. It is entirely up to you to decide which crypto exchange you use.
Some crypto exchanges support multiple XRP Ledger tokens along with XRP. (Gatehub is a good example of one.) This should be one of the things that you research before you create an account with an exchange. If you find that your current exchange does not support your desired XRP Ledger token, contact them directly and see if they have any plans to do so in the future.
How to set the currency in Xaman
Xaman (formerly Xumm) supports hundreds of different currencies including the most popular ones such as USD, EUR, GBP, AUD and CDN, but also some of the more exotic currencies like LSL, MNT and SAR. Switching between currencies in Xaman is very easy. Just follow the steps below.
1) Launch Xaman and tap the Settings button.
2) Tap the General category.
3) Select the Currency option.
4) Choose which currency you would like to use.
Which tokens does Xaman support?
Xaman (formerly known as Xumm) supports both the XRP Ledger and the Xahau blockchain. Any token issued on either network is supported by Xaman.
The XRPL protocol is our passion and our specialty and while there are other blockchain technologies that might show promise or potential, we are committed to developing the XRPL ecosystem. Splitting our focus between various blockchains or becoming a “jack of all trades” wallet is just not in line with our desire to support the XRPL community.
No. Our focus is the XRP Ledger and the Xahau network.
Those tokens are all issued currencies. They were created on the XRPL/Xahau network to represent specific assets. Anyone can create a token on the XRP Ledger. (Xaman actually contains an xApp called to walk you through the process of doing this.)
The BTC/ETH/SGB/FLR tokens that were issued on the XRPL are not the same as the native BTC/ETH/SGB/FLR tokens on their respective blockchains.
For example, you can not send BTC issued on the XRPL directly to the Bitcoin network because the Bitcoin network and the XRP Ledger are separate and incompatible networks.
People/companies issue tokens on XRPL to enjoy all the benefits of the XRPL but who don't want the limitations or issues associated with other blockchains.
If your are interested in learning more about this, check out this article:
No. ETH is the native token on the Ethereum blockchain. The Ethereum blockchain and the XRPL are separate and incompatible networks.
No. XLM is the native token on the Stellar blockchain. The Stellar blockchain and the XRPL are separate and incompatible networks.
No. Tokens on the Stellar network can not be directly sent to an XRP Ledger account. As well, Xaman does not support the Stellar network. It only supports the XRP Ledger and Xahau networks.
No. SGB is the native token on the Songbird blockchain. The Songbird blockchain and the XRPL are separate and incompatible networks.
No. XDC is the native token on the XinFin blockchain. The XinFin blockchain and the XRPL are separate and incompatible networks.
No. USDT (aka Tether) has been issued on fourteen protocols and blockchains, but not on the XRP Ledger or Xahau yet. They might decide to issue on the XRPL/Xahau, but as of November 2024, there are no reports of this .
There is not a definitive and updated list of tokens on the XRP Ledger, but you can do a search for most of them here:
Xaman is not affiliated with any token on the XRPL or the Xahau network and we do not endorse any of them.
Recovering an XRPL account created during the CasinoCoin swap
If you have access to your old CasinoCoin wallet secret in the form of a code that starts with a lower case s, you can import your CasinoCoin wallet secret with this link (scan the QR with Xumm).
The CasinoCoin team has documented a process to access accounts created during the CSC swap. You can find the instructions here:
How to recover a CasinoCoin account
If you run into any trouble with the recovery process, you can contact the CasinoCoin support staff here: CasinoCoin Support
Or via email here: support@casinocoin.im
CasinoCoin has not released an official video, but one of the XRPL community members created this video which many people find helpful:
GateHub has issued several tokens. How do they work?
GateHub is a payment gateway platform that allows you to buy, sell, trade and store digital currency.
For a complete list of their services, you can visit their site here => GateHub
GateHub has currently issued 16 different tokens on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), including XAH, USDT, USDC, GALA, WXRP, Flare and SGB, along with stable coins such as EUR, USD, GBP and others.
Yes. Here's a good example of how a token's value works.
On October 29-2023, GateHub issued 500,000 XAH tokens (GH-XAH) on the XRP Ledger. At the same time, they moved 500,000 XAH coins into their reserves to back their issued tokens with XAH on the Xahau network. By doing this, each one of the GH-XAU tokens has a XAH coin on the Xahau network to back it up.
It might help to think of the GH-XAH tokens as if they are 'IOUs' for the XAH coins which exist on the Xahau network. GateHub will exchange the GH-XAH tokens issued on the XRPL for XAH coins on the Xahau network.
The tokens that GateHub has issued on the XRPL are directly linked to the actual asset.
For example, if you hold a GateHub issued SGB token (GH-SGB) on the XRPL, you can exchange it 1:1 into “real” SGB on the GateHub platform.
By owning GH-SGB the XRPL you can take advantage of all of the great features on the XRPL has to offer. (Low fees, fast settlement, secure platform, eco-friendly, etc.) The same applies to Flare, USDC, USDT, GALA and all the other tokens GateHub has issued. By owning the Gatehub token, you basically own the asset on the XRPL.
Perhaps the best part, is that all of these tokens can be traded on the XRPL DEX so you can take advantage of the XRPL’s speed and super cheap fees. Imagine being able to make trades on the Ethereum network that can complete in under 5 seconds at the cost of under 1 penny per trade. With these issued tokens, you can do this on the XRPL, even though the native asset is on a different blockchain.
You get all the advantages of the XRP Ledger with these tokens. Speed, reliability, the DEX, the low fees and of course, you can manage them all with Xaman!
Stable coins are cryptocurrencies whose value is tied to that of another currency, commodity, or financial instrument.
Let's look at the EUR stable coin.
The EUR token that Gatehub issued is “pegged” to the Euro fiat currency. This means that 1 EUR stable coin will always hold a value near 1 EUR. The value is kept stable by the trust that Gatehub holds sufficient assets and that it is acting in a transparent way.
You can read more about how this works here:
This feature has been integrated into Xaman (formerly Xumm). This article explains how it works:
In September 2021, Flare Networks launched a proprietary canary network called Songbird. They issued 15 Billion SGB tokens on the Songbird network.
On October 11-2021, Gatehub issued 1,594,2003 SGB tokens on the XRP Ledger.
While both tokens have the same symbol, SGB, they exist on different networks.
You can not send a GH-SGB token directly to the Songbird network and you can not send a Songbird coin directly to the XRP Ledger. They are different assets issued on different blockchains.
Gatehub will allow you to exchange your GH-SGB tokens issued on the XRPL for SGB issued on the Songbird network and vice versa.
USD Tether and USD Coin are stable coins issued on the Ethereum network using the ERC-20 standard and are back by USD fiat currency.
On February 12-2022, Gatehub issued 500,000 USDC tokens and 499,998 USDT tokens on the XRP Ledger.
Just like the SGB token discussed above, both the USDC and USDT tokens issued on the Ethereum blockchain are not compatible with the XRPL. While they share the same symbols as their XRPL counterparts, they exist on different and incompatible networks.
You can not send an XRPL token directly to the Ethereum network and you can not send an Ethereum token directly to the XRP Ledger. They are different tokens issued on different blockchains.
Gatehub will allow you to exchange USDT and USDC tokens issued on the XRPL for USDC and USDT tokens issued on the Ethereum network and vice versa.
As you might have guessed by now, the same applies to GALA and WXRP.
WXRP is wrapped XRP that can be used on the Ethereum network and the GALA token is the main cryptocurrency used in the Gala Games Ecosystem. Both were issued on the Ethereum network using the ERC-20 standard
On February 12-2022, Gatehub issued 1,000,000 GALA tokens and 500,000 WXRP tokens on the XRP Ledger.
Both the GALA and WXRP tokens issued on the Ethereum blockchain are not compatible with the XRPL. While they share the same symbols as their XRPL counterparts, they exist on different and incompatible networks.
You can not send an XRPL token directly to the Ethereum network and you can not send an Ethereum token directly to the XRP Ledger. They are different tokens issued on different blockchains.
Gatehub will allow you to exchange GALA and WXRP tokens issued on the XRPL for GALA and WXRP tokens issued on the Ethereum network and vice versa.
You need to visit Gatehub and create an account on their platform. Once you have done that, you can send your coins to your account with them and convert the coins to their XRPL equivalent.
If you have any questions about this process, you can contact Gatehub support at:
If you have purchased any of the tokens issued by Gatehub on the XRP Ledger and you are interested in “cashing out” or converting them to their counter part on another network, you need to visit Gatehub and create an account on their platform. Once you have done that, you can send your tokens from Xaman (formerly Xumm) to your account with them and Gatehub will convert them for you.
For more information about this process, you can contact Gatehub support at:
There are three questions that need to be answered:
Does your exchange support the XRP Ledger?
If the answer is yes, which tokens on the XRPL does your exchange support?
What criteria did your exchange use to determine which tokens to support?
When it comes to any token issued on the XRP Ledger, it all comes down to trust.
Any exchange can easily honor Gatehub’s issued tokens and Gatehub can easily honor any other tokens issued on the XRPL. It comes down to who Gatehub trusts and who trusts Gatehub.
Unfortunately we do not keep track of which exchanges support which tokens. You can reach out to your exchange and ask them.
Going through KYC with Fractal ID
Fractal ID is an identity provider who offers KYC services to various blockchains.
Fractal had a reward campaign with Ripple, in which Fractal ID users who met the following criteria would be rewarded with 11 XRP tokens:
Have an approved Plus level KYC in Fractal ID
Have an XRPL wallet (Our KYC process allows users to onboard directly with Xumm)
As of October 20, 2023, the program is no longer active.
For more information about Fractal ID and their programs please contact directly at:
Fractal ID's program required an XRP Ledger wallet in order to participate. Xumm is the premier wallet on the XRPL so many people chose to go through the KYC and direct the funds to their XRPL accounts managed by Xumm.
There is currently no partnership or business relationship between Fractal ID and Xumm.
Fractal ID have their own Customer Service team dedicated to providing support for their products and services. They can be reached here:

In the Xaman application itself, we do not gather or store any personal information about you or your XRP Ledger account. (This includes email). If you are interested, you can view our Privacy policy here:
Having said this, there are a couple of places where email can be stored...
If you have subscribed to Xaman Pro, you have the option to enter an email address if you would like to participate in our beta testing program. You can change your email address by launching Xaman Pro, then choosing Xaman App early access.
When you place an order for Xaman (Tangem) cards, you are asked for your email address during the order process. (We use it to send you your "Track-and-Trace" information from our shipping company.) Since we usually ship our orders on the same day, there is a very small window where we could actually change your email information. If you contact us in time, we can change it for your order. 🤞
As above, open a ticket using the Xaman Support xApp and ask to have your email address for your Xaman (Tangem) order updated. (Don't forget to include your new email address in the message.)
Per our Privacy policy, your email address (along with any other information you provide us in your order) gets automatically purged from our systems shortly after your order is sent.
As we continue to expand the XRPL ecosystem, you will notice we more partnerships with 3rd party companies such as Banxa, BTC Direct, Gatehub, etc.
Please note: We have absolutely no control over what information a 3rd party vendor gathers, stores and/or maintains.
These companies have their own privacy and disclosure policies and each one collects and maintains their own records. In order to change your email address with them, you are going to need to contact them directly.
If you have signed up for our developer portal, you would have entered your email address.
To get this changed, open a ticket using the Xaman Support xApp and ask to have your email address for your developer portal account updated.
Getting added to the short list in Xaman
What is the Xaman short list?
The "short list" is the list of tokens that is presented when you press the +Add button on the main screen of Xaman.
This is what the short list looks like:
We will not be adding projects to the Xaman short list until the XRPL Foundation releases their token vetting program. When the XRPLF's vetting program does become available, tokens wishing to be added to the short list in Xaman will be required to complete a two part process:
The issuer must complete the Self Assessment portion of the XRP Ledger Foundation's Token Assessment Framework.
The issuer must complete and pass a validation, verification and compliance vetting process via the XRPLF's third party auditor.
Once both of these have been successfully completed, your token will automatically be brought to our attention as a candidate for inclusion into Xaman.
Details about the XRPL Foundation assessment process can be found here:
As well, you can stay up to date on events involving the XRPL Foundation on Twitter here:
Make sure that you visit the XRPL Foundation assessment site and thoroughly review it first. It should able to answer most of your questions.
If you can't find your answer there, the best way to contact the XRPLF is via email at:

How to can a token issuer add a custom Logo/Icon to their Trust Line so it is displayed in Xaman
Trust Lines are a fundamental part of the XRP Ledger in that they allow an account to hold non-XRP assets (tokens) issued on the XRPL.
Each Trust Line has a unique r-address which helps to identify it but it can be confusing for new users and sometimes people mix up the various tokens and issuing accounts.
Here at Xaman (formerly Xumm) we are constantly trying to make things safer and easier for our users so we are excited to introduce Trust Line icons for all token issuers on the XRPL. It is our hope that by adding icons to Trust Lines, it will help our people quickly and accurately identity which projects they are dealing with.
When we talk about the Trust Line icons in Xaman, we are talking about the little logo beside the Trust Line name. Here are some examples:
If you need assistance with the instructions, xrplmeta.org can be reached here:
Your project must also feature these traits as reflected by the data we retrieve from them.
Token name
Token issuers name
Token issuer domain name
Have a non-trivial number of incoming Trust Lines for your asset
Have a non-trivial amount of asset holders for your asset
Once you have completed all of the above, your icon is eligible to be displayed in Xaman.
Yes, here are a couple of other things you should be aware of:
Adding a Trust Line icon does not mean that Xaman endorses the asset in question. Xaman will still show users the appropriate warnings when adding Trust Lines.
We do not endorse or support ANY token issued on the XRPL. Xaman is simply displaying your icon information that is publicly available by 3rd party data feeds.
We only publish token icons from the XRPL Meta API. Xamam does not sync the information.
For new, valid assets, Xaman users may need to restart Xaman before they can see them.
As well, issuer icons (add Trust Line, remove Trust Line, Sign Request, Event List) have a 24h cache policy on a per device, client side basis, so depending on the user it may show instantly or after 24h.
Guidelines and Review Process for publishing an xApp in Xaman
An xApp within Xaman Wallet is a third-party application integrated directly into the Xaman ecosystem, allowing users to seamlessly interact with various tools and services on the XRP Ledger without leaving the Xaman wallet interface.
xApps enhance functionality by providing features such as access to the DEX, access to many XRPL features, cryptocurrency swaps, NFT management, and more, all while maintaining the security and user-friendliness that Xaman Wallet is known for.
In January 2022, we opened the xApp development process up to the XRP community.
Anyone who would like to create their own xApp is now able to do so, but the created xApps will be 'sandboxed' ie. they can only be accessed by the developer.
This article is designed to assist you with this process and outline the steps required to get your completed xApp published in Xaman, so other users can open & use your xApp.
In August 2023, we published a tool called xAppBuilder, lowering the barrier of entry to the xApp ecosystem:
Review the guidelines to estimate your chance for success before coding or submitting your xApp for review.
Review initial questions that will be asked to determine if you can continue to finish the xApp before submitting the xApp for a final review.
Submit your code with a detailed explanation as to what your xApp does.
Our development team will;
review your code
test your xApp
if approved, the xApp will be made available through a direct, public URL available to all Xaman users.
Please Note:
This does not imply that your app will be listed in the Xumm "more xApps" section.
xApps need to:
add value to a significant share of the Xaman user base
have clear instructions for end users
be designed in a way that protects users from dangerous mistakes
say what it does and do what it says
have publicly available source code
Keep it updated
xApp developers need to:
have gone through the KYC process
provide both customer and technical support for their xApp
have an easy and clear way to be contacted
revoke any xApp from the Xaman platform without prior notice if it is deemed necessary to protect our users
Reasons for doing so may include (but not limited to):
potential harm for users
lack of customer support
lack of updates
promotes speculation (e.g. pushing users towards buying tokens is not allowed)
involvement in any criminal activity or behavior detrimental to the XRP community
Licensing issues/infringements
Make sure you review each question and thoroughly understand the purpose of your xApp.
What use case will the app have?
Who are you targeting with your xApp?
Is it using your own or someone else’s issued currency?
If so, which one(s)?
Are you planning to make a profit from this xApp?
If so, in what way will this xApp support you or your company?
Is this xApp released on a personal title?
If so, please provide us with your personal details.
Is this xApp released on a company title?
If so, please provide us with details of the company.
Have you gone through the KYC process?
Did you go through the KYC process in Xaman Pro?
If so, please share your information including your XRP address and the XRP addresses related to the xApp.
Do you understand and agree that we can revoke the access to your xApp at any time, even if the xApp successfully makes it through the review process?
Can you provide a (working) title and description of your xApp?
If you have made it this far and are ready to submit your xApp for review, please ensure you have considered the following:
Have you thoroughly tested the xApp for obvious bugs?
Is the UI easy to use and intuitive?
Is it self explanatory and with instructions, including expectation management?
Does is have in app support? ie. A direct link to your own designated support channel?
Does it respect dark/light mode and alternative styling in Xaman?
Are font types consistent?
If applicable, does scrolling work as expected? (Prevent page scrolling/zooming if applicable.)
Does this xApp use a backend?
How secure is the back end?
How will it be hosted and where?
Could this xApp result in dangerous transactions?
How long has this been tested and with how many users?
Is it clear to users that you are not in anyway affiliated with XRPL Labs or Xaman?
Have you made sure you are reachable via social media for support?
You are known, transparent and not anonymous.
Have you provided a public GitHub link to your xApp, your backend if applicable, an app icon, title and description?
Your xApp will get an assigned public URL that you can share with your users.
All future modifications/updates to your xApp will trigger the review process again.
All xApps get reviewed after each release of Xaman.
How to reset the signing password on your account
This article assumes that you have the account secret for your XRP Ledger account. You must know the account secret in order to proceed. You will not be able to access your XRPL account without it.
When Xumm is installed, you are presented with the option to select Standard security or Extra security.
The following table explains the differences.
If you selected Extra security you would have created a separate signing password. If you have forgotten that signing password, if it is not working, or you would like to change it, here are the instructions on how to do this.
Launch Xumm and press Settings -> Accounts -> then press the Edit button beside the account to be removed. (Note: This does not delete your account from the XRP Ledger, it simply removes your account from Xumm. )
Select Remove from Xumm then Yes, I’m Sure’ on the warning screen.
Note: This assumes that you have the passcode to remove the account. If you do not have the passcode (or your passcode does not work), you are going to need uninstall Xumm, then reinstall in Xumm then move on to Step 2 below.
How to delete an XRP Ledger account from the XRPL.
1) Go to
2) Sign in with Xaman using the account you would like to delete.
3) Select the Account delete option.
4) Enter the r-address where you would like your funds delivered to.
5) Sign the transaction.
The XRP Ledger has a 0.2 XRP fee to delete an account. (In addition to the regular transaction fee.) This means that after you delete your account you should receive about 0.79999 XRP from your 1 XRP base reserve.
Even after you delete your account, you should not throw away your account secret. Someone may send funds to your account in the future and you will need your account secret to access them.
Removing an account from Xaman... (Settings -> Accounts -> Edit -> Remove from Xaman)
...is not the same as deleting an account from the XRP Ledger.
When an account is removed from Xaman, the account secret (Secret numbers / Family seed / Mnemonic) is deleted from Xaman, but the XRPL account still exists on the XRP Ledger.
To delete an XRPL account, you need to follow the instructions above.
They will need to locate your funds in their system and deliver them to your exchange account.
Unfortunately there is nothing Xaman Support can do to help you recover your funds. Only your exchange is capable of delivering your funds to your account.
You can not own any objects in your XRP Ledger account, including NFTs, if you plan to delete it. This means that you need to either sell your NFTs or delete them. For instructions on how to do this, contact the site where you acquired the NFTs from and they should be able to assist you.

You can find the setup instructions here:
It is important to know that Xaman fetches all token information (including icons/logos) from the project.
is an external data feed that Xaman references for token attributes.
At least “trust level 1” on
Adding an icon to a Trust Line icon DOES NOT add the asset to the Xaman .
Once every 24 hours Xaman will fetch the feeds and update the information in the app based on meeting the above requirements. (We can’t speak for the feed refresh policies for the XRPL Foundation or though.)
Your account secret will come in the the form of a set of secret numbers / Family seed /Mnemonic. This article will guide you through importing your account with which ever one you have:
If you plan to send your remaining funds to a crypto exchange or to another wallet, please make sure that they support the transaction on the XRPL. Quality exchanges such as support it, but many do not.
A new account on the XRP Ledger can not be activated by the transaction. If you try to do this, it will be rejected and you will still be charged the 0.2 XRP fee.
If your XRPL account was removed from Xaman in error, it can be imported back into Xaman using the account secret (Secret numbers / Family Seed / Mnemonic) by following the instructions here:
If you already deleted your account and sent the remaining funds to a crypto exchange or wallet that does not support the transaction, you will need to contact your exchange/wallet and explain what happened.
If you have ever minted an NFT and it still exists on the XRP Ledger, you will not be able to delete your account until the NFT(s) that you minted have been burned. (This is a requirement of the the NFT implementation on the XRP Ledger (See the ), and as a XRPL requirement, cannot be by-passed) You will need to track down the NFT you minted and make arrangements for it to be deleted. Once you have done that you should be able to delete your XRPL account.

Standard security is a great option your daily spending account. You can sign with your 6 digit passcode or enable biometrics and sign with your face/finger print.
Extra security allows you to enter a separate signing password. This is the best option for your long term storage account.
How can I earn money with Xaman?
Generally, there are two types of staking in the blockchain space.
1) Some crypto exchanges will allow you to lock up your tokens with them and pay you rewards for doing this.
2) Proof of Stake networks (Ethereum 2.0, Cardano, Tezos, etc.) allow you to lock up your tokens for the opportunity to validate a new block on the network for which you would receive a reward.
Staking varies depending on which exchange you are dealing with, but generally it is similar to how a bank might give you interest on funds you "invest" with them. In many cases, the bank will use your funds to make money for themselves, then pay you a small amount from their profits.
With an exchange, you deposit your tokens into an account and they use your funds to earn tokens from the blockchain. They keep the majority of the tokens that they "earn" and give you "rewards" for letting them use your tokens.
On a Proof of Stake (PoS) network it works a bit differently.
Basically, a validator "locks up" a bunch of coins to prove that they are committed to the blockchain. The PoS consensus mechanism randomly selects from the pool of validators to see who will get the opportunity to produce and validate the next block on the blockchain. The larger the staked amount, the higher the chance of been chosen to create the new block on the network. The validator that is chosen to create a new block, receives a reward so there is an incentive to stake more coins.
No. The XRP Ledger is not a Proof-of-Stake blockchain. The XRPL uses the XRPL Consensus Protocol to validate transactions and does not rely on staking like a PoS blockchain does. The XRPL validation process is not a competitive based system, it is a cooperative based system.
Xaman does not offer a reward program but there are a couple of ways to earn crypto in the XRP Ledger /Xahau community.
The XRP Ledger does offer AMM pools which have the potential to generate returns on invested assets.
This article explains how it works:
The Xahau network offers a balance adjustment feature which allows you to collect 4% of your XAH holdings over the period of a year.
See this article for more information:
There are projects that have created various "staking" schemes on the XRPL. Almost all of them offer rewards in the form of issued tokens. If you wish to participate in any of these schemes, please contact them directly for details on how they work and instructions on how you can enroll.
Please make sure that you fully understand how they plan to generate returns and only risk funds you are prepared to lose. Xaman does not endorse or support any staking programs.
What to do if you've been hacked or scammed
If you are the victim of a crime, it is vital that you report it to your local police department as soon as possible. They will have the resources, the expertise and experience necessary to conduct a thorough investigation into your case and determine what the best course of action is to recover your funds.
Some countries have a special "cyber crime" or "financial crime" units that you can report crimes to as well. Your local police should provide you with all of your options.
Xaman is not part of any governmental law enforcement agency nor we do not have the legal authority to conduct a criminal investigation. As well, we are not permitted to interfere in police investigations.
If the police require our assistance, the will contact us.
Investigating criminal matters, which now includes crypto and blockchain crimes, is one of the primary responsibilities of law enforcement. In most countries around the world, the local police departments are getting better when it comes to investigating cyber crimes. (After all, blockchain has been around for over 15 years now.) If there is any chance in recovering your funds, the police will need to be involved.
Transactions on the XRP Ledger can not be reversed, blocked or "undone" and the XRPL does not have any administrative functions built into it, so there is no way for Xaman or anyone else to modify or change a completed transaction. All transactions on the XRPL are permanent.
The 6 digit passcode is used to access the Xaman app and in some cases, sign transactions in Xaman. It is not used to access your XRPL account. (That's what the secret numbers are for.) Changing your passcode has no effect on your secret numbers.
The same applies to your signing password. Both the passcode and the sign password are LOCAL security measures to protect your secret numbers locally on your phone. They do not prevent someone from accessing your account if they have your secret numbers.
After you have contacted the police, explain exactly what happened which lead up to this situation. They might need access to your phone and your internet history so you should be prepared to surrender your mobile device and your internet records if required.
Consider re-keying your account and disabling the master key for the compromised account. If you do this, it will prevent the scammers from accessing your account again.
Try to think of ways your account secret could have been compromised.
Have you ever shared your private key it with anyone?
Was your private key stored on a cloud account or somewhere else online?
Was you private key stored on your PC? Mobile device?
Have you ever entered your private key into a Google form?
Have you ever entered your private key into another crypto wallet service?
Have you ever entered your private key into a Website?
Has your phone ever been in for servicing or repairs?
Do you use public wifi?
If none of these apply to your situation, there is a good chance that your mobile device has been hacked. At this point we strongly recommend you consider wiping your phone and start reinstalling applications one at a time. Do not restore from backup! Without knowing how your phone was compromised, restoring from backup could be dangerous.
Apple
Android
For instructions on how to wipe your Android phone, contact your phone manufacturer.
We take security VERY seriously.
If you have found yourself in this situation, you should consider the following suggestions moving forward:
Xaman (Tangem) cards - these cards are an excellent way to take the security of your XRPL account to the next level. You can learn more about them here:
Review the following article and consider how you plan to interact with the XRP Ledger in the future.
Contact your local police immediately if you are the victim of a crime.
Either re-key the account or
Create a new account and move your assets over to the new account
Note: Be advised, Trust Lines will have to be duplicated (temporarily) in the new account until they can be removed from the old account requiring enough XRP to cover reserves for two sets of Trust Lines until the move is complete.
How to reset your 6 digit passcode/pin
When you install Xaman (formerly Xumm), the first thing it asks you to do is to enter a 6 digit passcode/pin.
This 6 digit code is one of the primary ways to access the Xaman application. (The other way is via Biometrics) If, during the installation of Xaman, you did not select “Extra Security”, the 6 digit passcode is also one of the ways to sign a transaction in the application.
To change your passcode, launch Xaman, press Settings then Security then Change passcode.
Enter in your current passcode, then enter in your new passcode. You have 1 million possible combinations to choose from. This is one of the primary security measures for protecting your funds so do not choose, 123456, 000000, 11111 or something similar. Your passcode should be difficult to guess.
In a case where your passcode is no longer working, you are going to need to uninstall Xaman, then reinstall Xaman and re-import your account using your account secret.
In a case where you have lost your passcode, the solution is the same as if your passcode is not working. Uninstall Xumm, then reinstall Xaman and re-import your account using your account secret.

All about NFTs
Technically an NFT (non-fungible token) is an object on the XRP Ledger that can be uniquely identified, but in practice, an NFT can be used to represent almost anything imaginable.
For example, an NFT can be a concert ticket, a picture, a song, proof of ownership, a license or a lease.
In simple terms, an NFT is a unique identifier on the XRPL that points to an item off the XRPL.
For more information, this link provides an excellent conceptual view of NFTs:
XRPL Foundation: An overview of NFTs on the XRP Ledger
There are a couple of options for viewing NFTs in Xumm.
1) From the main screen, press the Tokens button,
then select NFT,
You should see a list of all of your NFT's.
2) If you would like to view one of the NFT's in a larger format or view more information about a particular NFT, select it, and it should display a screen similar to this:
While the XRP Ledger has an NFT standard (XLS-20), the metadata standards for NFTs are still being developed. This means that not all NFTs may be displayed in all NFT viewers since they may have been minted using different metadata information.
Until the XRPL community can agree on a set of metadata standards for NFTs, Xumm will rely on NFT minters to publish their own standards.
You can try opening your NFT using one of the NFT viewer xApps in the list. In this case, we used Peerkat NFT viewer to view this one.
You'll notice that you have three additional options:
Displays any offers you have made or received for this NFT
Copies a link to your NFT.
Open a blockchain explore where you can view additional details about your NFT including the history of your NFT.
No. Xumm does not have a way to compose an NFT minting transaction, but it will allow you to sign a minting transaction created by a third party. We feel that issuing an NFT should (and probably will) involve different steps and a different workflow based on what the NFT will represent, thus issuing NFTs is best left to people with the specific knowledge of their project. The good news is that there are already many 3rd party projects working in the NFT minting space, so we should see more new and exciting xApps arrive for all kinds of different NFTs!
No. In order to sell an NFT you will have to go through an NFT marketplace. Xumm will allow you to sign a sell transaction crafted by an NFT marketplace but it will not allow you to sell an NFT directly. Just like minting a transaction, the sell transaction will have to be composed by those projects in the NFT space. If those projects allow you to provide the required info, persist the info, craft an identifier pointing towards that info, then compose a transaction to sell the NFT, Xumm will allow you to review and sign that transaction.

No. An NFT is an asset like any other from the perspective of the XRP Ledger Protocol (the rules all XRPL wallets must follow). Xumm only transacts in XRPL assets.
An NFT created on another blockchain cannot be sent to the XRP Ledger. (Similarly, an NFT that was created on the XRPL can not be sent to another blockchain.)
It is possible that an NFT minter or NFT market place will offer an exchange service allowing NFTs to be shared between various networks but that will be a feature that they offer and will not be related to Xumm.
Prior to the adoption of the XLS-20 amendment, several projects created "NFTs" using various proprietary methods. Those companies decided to implement their own standards, so it is unclear if their 'NFT's' will be compatible with the new standard.
Since we have no way of knowing how their 'NFTs' were created, which specifications they adhered to or if they cut any corners in their minting process, we recommend that you contact the people who minted your NFT and see if they have a plan to ensure compatibility with the XLS-20 standard. It will be up to the NFT minter to provide support for their products.
Do I need to configure a Trust Line for an NFTs?
No.
Native NFTs on the XRPL do not require Trust Lines.
Some of the older, proprietary "NFTs" used Trust Lines though. If you have an "NFT" that requires a Trust Line, reach out to the company that created the NFT and see if they offer assistance on how to proceed.
There is actually! Here is our founder, Wietse Wind talking a bit about NFT's.
How to activate a new XRP Ledger account
In order to be able to hold XRP (or any of the 25,000+ tokens issued on the XRP Ledger) in an XRPL account, it must first be activated with a minimum of 1 XRP.
An account can be activated several ways but regardless of how it is activated, the first 1 XRP deposited into an XRPL account will be used to meet the reserve requirements and will not be spendable (unless and until the account is deleted and the reserve gets moved to another account).
If you're interested, this video explains how reserves and fees on the XRP Ledger work.
After you create a new XRP Ledger account in Xaman (formerly Xumm), you are presented with the following screen:
There are four way to activate an XRPL account:
Option 1
You can purchase XRP from one of our partners to activate your account.
Option 2
You can activate your account from another XRPL account in Xaman
Option 3
You can activate your account from an external source like a crypto exchange
Option 4
You can activate your account from an external source like another XRP Ledger account
Your first option is to purchase XRP from one of our partners.
Pressing the, 'Buy XRP' button gets you into the purchase flow:
Press the down arrow in the "Select your country or currency" field then choose your country or currency and you will see a list of service providers for your region.
Select the appropriate service provider by pressing the 'Open xApp' and follow the instructions provided on the screen.
Your second option is to fund your new XRPL account from an existing XRPL already imported into Xaman.
Pressing the, 'Fund with existing account' button gets you into Xaman send flow.
Choose your existing account in Xaman that has already been activated and has at least 1 XRP available for spending. You will be sending it to your new account.
You can choose any of the pre-determined amounts but the first 1 XRP will be ear marked for the account reserve. When done, press the Activate button then review the transaction and Slide to Accept.
You will notice that there is a third option, Fund via an exchange. Choosing this option does not actually activate your account. It simply provides instructions on how to send XRP from your exchange account to your XRPL account managed by Xaman.
There are several crypto exchanges in the blockchain space which also sell XRP. Some of the bigger players include:
For instructions on how to send XRP from one of the above exchanges, simply click on the name of the exchange and follow the steps.
If your exchange is not listed above, here are the generic instructions which should help sending from your exchange:
Please make sure that you thoroughly research the crypto exchange that you decide to purchase from. Each exchange has their own rules and fee structures which you should fully understand before signing up.
Furthermore, just because we have provided a list of exchanges, it does not mean that we support or endorse any of them in any way. It is entirely up to you to decide which crypto exchange you use.
Finally, you can activate your new XRPL account by sending 1 XRP from another XRPL account.
For example, if you have a friend, family member, co-worker, etc. who has an activated account, you can have them activate your account by having them send 1 XRP to it.
Here is how they can send XRP to Xaman:
How to take a screenshot in Xumm
One of the many security features in Xumm is not being able to take screenshots.
Here is how to temporarily disable this security feature.
From the main page in Xumm, press Settings then Security.
Toggle the switch beside Block taking screenshots.
Note: This setting will automatically re-enable when Xumm is restarted.
All devices have various attack vectors and in the event that your phone was ever comprised, preventing screenshots from being taken in Xumm would prevent an app from sniffing your account secret, your r-address, your balance, etc.
It’s always important to fully understand how you’re interacting with the XRP Ledger. With complex features on XRPL, we strongly recommend users try them out on the testnet first. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of setting up your account on Testnet.
Using the testnet before the mainnet comes with several benefits. It lets you safely test applications without risking real assets since tokens on the testnet don't have any real value. You can also experiment with changing settings for your account without affecting your actual account on the mainnet.
Open Xaman, go to Settings > Advanced > (scroll down a little) then enable "Developer mode" then go back to the previous screen.
Tap Home button at the bottom of the screen, then press the network switch button at the top right.
Select XRPL Testnet under the Testnet category.
Go back to the home screen, then select Activate your account
On the next screen, press Activate account button.
Once your account is funded, select Close xApp
You should see your account on Testnet is funded with 1,000 XRP. Again, these tokens have no real value.
Now you're all set to try out all the features without affecting the real accounts on mainnet!
Open any xApp you’d like to test, and you can explore and experiment as much as you want until you're comfortable.

Understanding the Events screen in Xumm
The Events option in Xumm is used to display historical information about your XRP Ledger account.
The Events button is one of the main five buttons on the Xumm home screen. Simply tap the Events button to access this feature.
The All tab displays the historical events for your XRPL account.
This tab shows the most recent 1000 transactions that were written to the XRP Ledger.
The Planned tab displays future events which may happen on the XRP Ledger. In the screenshot below we can see a DEX offer which is waiting to be filled on the XRPL DEX, an open offer to sell an NFT and an open Xumm Support ticket which is waiting for a reply.
The Requests tab displays sign requests such payment requests and NFT offers. In the image below we can see several offers that have been received for NFTs
In some cases you might notice a red dot beside the Events button.
The red dot means that there is an event under the Requests ot the All tab that requires your attention.
In the following example, you can see there is a Sign Request waiting to be signed.
Simply select the event and resolve it and the red dot will go away.
How to import your existing XRP Ledger account with a Mnemonic
XRPL accounts that are created using Xumm provide a set of Secret Numbers which allow you to access them.
Since your XRPL account was created using another wallet / platform, you might want to consider creating a new account using Xumm and leave your mnemonic account off-line. If you are interested in learning why, check out this article:
If you decide to proceed, launch Xumm then press the button then press
You should see this screen:
Press the Import an existing account button. You will see:
You can import an XRP Ledger account in either of these two modes:
Full access - Choose this option if you would like to be able to interact with your XRPL account. ie. if you would like to create a Trust Line or send XRP to another account.
Read only access - Choose this option if you would like to simply follow the activity of an XRPL account. This option does not allow you to sign transactions on your account.
If you decide to import your account in Read only access mode, stop, and refer to this article:
Otherwise, choose Full access and press the Next button. You should see this screen:
Xumm is compatible with all industry standard account secrets. In this case we will choose the Mnemonic the press Next.
Press Next, I understand
Here is where you can enter your 12, 16, or 24 words. When done, press the Next button.
You should see the following screen:
The following table should help you decide which option is best for you.

Extra security allows you to enter a separate signing password. This is the best option for your long term storage account.
Once you decide, select it and press Next then enter the account label and press Next to complete the import process.
How to convert the Secret numbers into a Family seed
Not all crypto wallets support the XRP Ledger or the secret numbers generated by Xumm.
Before you proceed, please ensure that your wallet supports the XRP Ledger, along with the Family Seed standard. As long as it does, the following tool will convert your secret numbers into the Family Seed format:
Whenever you import an account secret (secret numbers/family seed/mnemonic) into a wallet, website or mobile device, there is a risk of exposing your account secret to third parties.
We strongly recommend you consider reviewing this article so you better understand the risks associated with this process:

Security screen
This page is still under construction
While Xumm handles most of the heavy security behind the scenes, there are a few options left to users to decide for themselves.
Here is how the Security settings work and how to configure them.
How to get to the Security screen
Launch Xumm, press the Settings button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Next, select the Security option.
Security options
Change passcode
This option allows users to change the 6-digit passcode needed to access the Xumm application.
In order to change the passcode, you must know the existing 6 digit passcode.
If you have lost/forgotten the passcode, please refer to this article:
Auto Lock
This option controls the amount of time Xumm waits before requiring the 6 digit passcode/Biometric authentication be entered to unlock the app.
The default setting for Auto lock is 1 minute but the range of settings is from 0 seconds to 1 week.
For example, if you set Auto lock to 0 seconds, every time you exit Xumm, you will need to enter your 6-digit passcode/Biometric authentication before you can get into Xumm again. If you set Auto lock to 1 week, you can exit Xumm and gain access to Xumm for 1 week before you need to enter your 6 digit passcode/Biometric authentication again.
Biometric authentication
This feature allows you to enable and disable Biometric authentication. If disabled, Xumm will only accept the 6-digit passcode to unlock the application.
Erase data
When you enable this option, you are limited to 10 failed attempts to enter your 6 digit passcode. After the 10th failed attempt, Xumm will remove all account information and reset Xumm to a factory fresh installation. All accounts will be removed from Xumm. At this point you will need to re-import each XRPL account back into Xumm using the secret numbers. By default, this option is disabled.
Hide balance by default
By enabling this option, your r-address, XRP balance and your token balances are hidden. This option can be useful if you are in crowded place and do not want others looking over your shoulder and seeing your account balance.
Block taking screenshots (Android only)
This options prevents screenshots from being taken. Should you ever need to take a screenshot in Xumm, just disable this option and you should be able to take screenshots. When you exit Xumm and re-launch, Block taking screenshots is automatically enabled again. This option is enabled by default.

Just received your Xaman cards?
If you just received your Xaman cards and you are not sure what to do with them or how to configure them, this is exactly where you want to be. We are going to go over the basics of the cards, how to use them, and answer some common questions related to the cards.
Most people will receive two cards. They might look like this:
or like this:
Don't worry, the cards are exactly the same, other than their appearance. We sent you two different cards so you can easily tell them apart!
The main functions of a Xaman card are:
to securely create an account secret for an XRP Ledger account
to safely store that account secret on the card
to sign transactions on the card's account
There are multiple use cases and ways to configure the cards, but the core feature of a card is that it allows you to sign transactions on the XRPL account that the card creates.
Since an account secret is generated and stored on each card, the only way you can sign transactions on the card's account, is if you physically have the card.
The cards can not be used:
to connect to your bank account.
at an ATM or bank machine.
as a debit card or a credit card.
Here is a summary on how we recommend that you configure the cards:
1) Import both cards into Xaman. (This will create a new XRP Ledger account on each card.)
2) Activate one of the cards with 1 XRP. (The second card does not need to be activated.)
3) Configure the second card to be a backup for the activated card.
4) Move your existing funds (XRP and any other assets) from your existing XRPL account to your new card account.
5) Decide what to do with your existing account. (Discussed below)
Some people will want to create a pin or passcode on their cards. If you are going to do this, please make sure you read the following article thoroughly:
Create a pin on your backup card
We have compiled a set of suggestions on how to use your Xaman cards. A sort of, 'Do's and Don'ts' list of things to avoid and things to try to practice when it comes to your cards.
The ideal way to configure the cards is to:
Import two Xaman cards into Xaman
Create a Primary and Signing account, then link them together using the Tangem Backup xApp.
Move the majority of your assets to the Primary account, then put the card into a safe, secure storage location.
With the Xaman cards, we utilize the "regular key" feature on the XRP Ledger to accomplish the "link" between cards. See:
The idea is that you create a new XRPL account on one card, (The "Primary" account) then you create another XRPL account on a second card. (The "Backup" account). Once you have done this, you link the two cards together using the regular key feature on the XRP Ledger. The "link" allows you to sign transactions on the Primary account with the Backup account.
The backup is not a duplicate or a clone of an account. The backup is an alternative way to access your XRPL account.
For example, if you were to lose the Backup card (or if it was damaged, stolen, destroyed, etc.) you would just disable the Backup card and use the Primary card to access the Primary account. If you were to lose your Primary card (or if it was damaged, stolen, destroyed, etc.), you would simply move the assets off or your Primary account using the Backup card.
As mentioned above, we use the "regular key" feature of the XRP Ledger to "link' two card accounts together. (This eff ectively allows the "backup" card to sign transactions on the Primary card's account.) The XRPL only allows for one regular key to be set per account, so this limits the number of backup cards that can be configured to one card.
So what can a third card be used for?
Basically it all depends on how you plan to interact with the XRP Ledger community. For some people. the third card is just stored away in a safe place in case something happens to one of the other two cards. (Sort of like a spare card in case one of the others are damaged or lost.)
Some people use the third card as a dedicated account for gambling, or for NFTs or a dedicated trading account. Some use it for testing features on the XRPL or as a daily spending account.
Other people give it away to a friend or family member to introduce them to the XRP Ledger.
It depends on how you plan to interact with the XRP Ledger community.
Some people prefer to have multiple XRPL accounts for different functions. For example, you might want to have a dedicated account for airdrops, or for collecting NFTs, or for gambling or for gaming or you might want to use your Xaman cards for long term savings, but you might also want a "daily spending" account for routine transactions.
Other people prefer to have one account to manage all their XRP Ledger activity. Once you decide on your plans for the XRPL. you can decide what to do with your account(s).
For more information about this, please refer to this article:
For advanced users, the XRP Ledger has a feature called which allows multiple XRPL accounts to be linked together for signing purposes. The third card can be used in a multi-sign configuration if desired.
The Xaman card is a hardware wallet that offers peace of mind by providing a reliable and secure storage solution for your private keys for your XRPL account. Should you have any additional questions regarding this topic, you are welcome to contact us any time via the in Xaman.

Overview and use cases
At XRPL Labs, we are constantly working on improving the XRP Ledger user experience for consumers and for businesses.
Xaman (formerly Xumm) is a self-custodial XRP Ledger wallet. This means that you, and only you, have access to your funds because your funds are in your own account, to which you own the keys. Your keys are encrypted securely on your iOS/Android device.
While keeping your keys encrypted on your device makes a lot of sense for your daily spending (lower-value accounts, to be accessed on the fly), your keys to your XRPL savings are best kept offline, away from your iOS/Android device (or any device you carry around, for that matter). Existing methods to keep your private keys to your higher value accounts safe all have disadvantages, if you want to be able to potentially/periodically move funds from your savings to your spending account. A paper wallet (your secret offline, written down) is not user friendly. It's hard to use, because it will have to be imported to eg. Xaman when you want to access your funds. Hardware wallets have to be charged, are slightly harder (or even scary) to use. Air gapped clients require manual data entry when signing.
Just like XRPL Labs, is making the cryptocurrency space a safer, more user-friendly place. Their take on keeping keys for XRPL accounts safe is one we at XRPL Labs appreciate a lot. To the point where we feel confident using their cards ourselves to keep our savings safe. Instead of using a hardware wallet, or a static, written down secret (that can't be used easily), their cards contain a chip and use NFC (). The first time you use the card, the chip generates a private key, while being powered using NFC (by your iOS/Android device). This means the cards are shipped without a private key on them, so there is no chance of it being compromised between you and the factory. The chip used in Xaman (Tangem) cards offers bank grade security and have been fully audited.
Because the key stays in the (chip in the) card, signing happens in the (chip in the) card. This means your secret will never leave the card. You hold your card against your NFC enabled iOS/Android device to sign a transaction. Xaman will then send transaction details to the card, the card will sign and return the signature (for the signed transaction) to Xaman so Xaman can submit it to the XRP Ledger. This offers the best combination of user experience and security. Using your smartphone with decent screen size, and the Xaman + XRPL ecosystem to compose and review transactions, while using a separate (dedicated, low level, offline) piece of hardware (the Xaman (Tangem) card) to sign transactions. While Tangem already offered XRP cards, one could only use them for regular XRP payments. The XRPL has much more to offer than simple XRP payments: Issued tokens / IOU's (decentralized exchange), account settings, multi signing, escrow, etc. All fully supported by Xaman.
We are very excited and proud to share that, by supporting Tangem cards in Xaman, all XRP Ledger features and all transaction types will be available for all existing Tangem card owners.
Because the chip inside a Xaman (Tangem) card generates and holds the (non-extractable) private key to access your funds, a lost card means you won't be able to access your funds anymore. Fortunately, we've got your covered. Xaman includes an xApp called "Tangem Backup" which allows you to configure a second card as a backup. By doing this, you don't have to worry about a lost, stolen or damaged card... you will have a backup card to protect your assets.
What's the typical use case for a Xaman (Tangem) card? Your Xaman card has its own r-address. It's a separate XRP Ledger account. Xaman, in combination with your Xaman card, enables you to use all features on the XRPL. The most common use case would be to use two XRP Ledger accounts: one for receiving funds & daily spending and one for your savings. Your daily spending account in Xaman (as read/write account), and your savings account using a Xaman card. When you want to top up your spending account, you use your Xaman card to sign a transaction from your savings account to your spending account. When your spending account has a higher balance than you're comfortable with, you simply use Xaman to send some of your funds to your Xaman card account.
Can I use a Xaman (Tangem) card in an ATM / payment terminals? No, you cannot. While all Tangem cards feature a bank grade secure chip, the chip is programmed to work only for crypto-currencies with Apps supporting the cards. ATM's and retail payment terminals will not recognize a Xaman (Tangem) card.
Can I use a Xaman Tangem card to pay bills, buy things in a store or pay for services? This all depends if the business supports the XRP Ledger. For example, if you have a debit card and you go into a store that only accepts cash, you can not use your debit card to pay for items in that store. Some stores will allow you to pay with your debit card, but some stores will not. The same applies to the XRP Ledger. If the business accepts XRP as a form of payment, you can certainly pay using the Xaman (Tangem) cards.
Can I use a Xaman (Tangem) card with in the Tangem app / with other blockchains? Technically Xaman (Tangem) cards will "work" with the Tangem app, although we recommend against it. Xaman cards have been configured to our specifications to increase their security, so some of the Tangem features are not supported. (Eg. Their "cloning" feature will not work and their access code can not be configured, among others.) You can also try to use our cards to interact with other blockchains, since you will find the Tangem application offers this possibility. If you do, please note, all support related questions should be directed to Tangem support. Our cards are meant to be used in conjunction with Xaman, which is an XRP Ledger wallet. We do not support the use of our cards on other blockchains. You should also be aware, Tangem's current support of the XRP Ledger is minimal. You will not be able see your issued XRPL tokens, escrows, NFTs, DEX orders, etc. If your plan is to interact with multiple blockchains, you might find that you get a better experience by purchasing the Tangem Multi-currency cards: If your plan is to interact with the XRP Ledger, our cards are way to go.
How do I purchase the cards? You can purchase the cards via our website: or via Xaman:
Note: Due to the increase in shipping costs, we no longer include free shipping for the cards. Shipping costs will be calculated when you claim your cards and you will be responsible for paying for them separately. Free shipping is not included in the price of Xaman Pro.

Can I extract or backup the secret / private key from my Xaman (Tangem) card? No, you cannot. The secret / private key of a Xaman (Tangem) card is stored safely inside the chip in the card. The card can only sign for you, it will never expose the secret / private key. While you cannot extract & backup the secret / private key of the card, Xaman can setup a recovery account, and attach the recovery account to your Xaman (Tangem) card account. Using this recovery account, you will be able to regain access to your funds in case of a lost, stolen or damaged card. See:
How is the Xaman (Tangem) card protected? Can someone else use my card if they have physical access? Xaman will allow you to setup a PIN / Password on your card. If you do so, signing transactions with your card also requires that you to enter the PIN / Password. This will protect you against physical access attacks, as one not only needs your card, but your PIN / Password as well. If you did not configure a PIN / Password on your card, anyone with physical access to the card can move all your funds. See:
I just received my new cards? How do I configure them? This article will walk you through the process of getting them setup.

Some common terms and definitions related to the XRP Ledger and Xumm
XRPL - Stands for the XRP Ledger.
Account Secret - The Secret Numbers, Family Seed or Mnemonic for your account.
XRPL Labs - The company that created and developed the Xumm application.
Secret Numbers - The set of numbers that are displayed when an XRPL account is created using Xumm.
The DEX
XRP Ledger has a native decentralized exchange (DEX) that lets anyone buy or sell any asset that exists on the XRPL. Since anyone can issue assets on the XRPL, the DEX is an incredibly useful and powerful tool. It is basically a global market place where buying and selling takes place at any time.
The Spread
The spread is the difference between the bid and the ask prices of a token on the DEX. For example, if you place an order for 100 tokens for 100 XRP, but the current orders are for 100 tokens for 105 XRP, the spread is 5 XRP. You are bidding 100 XRP, people are asking for 105 XRP. The difference is 5 XRP.
Slippage
Slippage is a crypto trading term that describes the difference between what was expected and what actually occurred. Slippage is the amount of money lost or gained as a result of market fluctuations while executing an order.
Liquidity
Liquidity is the measure of how easily you can convert an asset into another asset. It refers to the ease and speed with which tokens can be bought or sold without significant impact on its value. When a token has good liquidity, there are lots of buyers and sellers. If a token is illiquid, there are not many buyers and sellers and it can be very difficult to execute trades without having a significant impact on the price.
Market Order
A market order is a transaction that tries to buy or sell tokens at the best available price on the DEX. If you are going to place a market order, you should review the charts and the order book depth before placing an order. Make sure that there is a market on both sides of the order book. This means lots of sellers and lots of buyers. If there is only a large number of sell orders, it means that you are trading in an illiquid asset.
Disabling the Master key on an XRPL account
There are two main reasons why you would want to disable the Master key for an XRPL account:
Your account has been compromised
You want to configure your account so that you can only sign and submit transactions using a regular keyed account.
You should confirm that you have the correct account secret for your account.
How to test your Account Secret
Once you have done this, you should be aware of the following before you proceed:
1) To disable the master key pair, you must use the master key pair.
2) Your account must have at least one method of authorizing transactions other than the master key pair. e.g. - assign a regular key
3) Once the Master key has been disabled, you will not be able to use it to re-enable your Master key. It can only be re-enabled using the assigned regular key account.
The XRP Ledger will not let you disable the Master key unless there is an alternate way to sign and submit transactions. This article explains how to do this by adding a regular key to your account.
You will not be able to access your XRP Ledger account using your Master key after performing this procedure. Ony your regular key account will be able to sign and submit transactions to the XRPL.
1) Go to XRPL.services
5) On the XRP Ledger Services page, select Account Set.
6) Choose Disable Master Key, then press the Send Account Settings to Xumm button.
7) Sign the transaction in Xaman (formerly Xumm) and you're all done!
8) Your Master Key should now be disabled and you should now be able to send and submit transactions to the XRP Ledger exclusively using your Regular key account.
Troubleshooting biometrics
Biometric authentication is a security process that involves using some part of your physical body to authenticate you. In the case of Xaman (formerly Xumm), a fingerprint or face scan.
There are couple of things that you should be aware of before you configure Xaman to use biometrics:
Xaman does not create or store any biometric information. Instead, it relies on your phone to manage all biometric information.
Configuring Xaman to use biometrics does not replace your 6 digit passcode. You can still use your passcode to access Xaman.
On some older phones, you must configure both your fingerprint and your face scan on your phone before Xaman will enable biometrics. Configuring one or the other will not work.
Some Apple phones, (iphone 12, 13 and 14) do not have the option to setup Touch ID. With those phones, you can only configure Face ID so Xaman will only support Face ID in those cases.
As long as you have successfully setup your fingerprint and/or face scan on your phone, enabling biometrics can be easily done by:
1) Launching Xaman and pressing the Settings button.
2) Tapping the Security option.
2) Tapping the Biometric authentication button.
Once biometrics has been enabled in Xaman, it will continually check the biometric configuration on your phone to see there have been any changes. If the host parameters of biometrics change (e.g. iCloud account security settings updated, fingerprint/face added/removed, etc..) Xaman will automatically disable biometric authentication and revert exclusively to the six digit passcode configured during the initial installation. We did this because an attacker with access to your phone might be able to add their own fingerprint to your device, thus granting themselves access not only to your phone but also to your Xaman wallet.) If this happens, just disable Biometric authentication in Xaman, reboot your phone, then launch Xaman and re-enable Biometric authentication.
In many cases, just toggling Settings > Security > Biometric Authentication off then back on is enough to resolve most issues.
Samsung phones
On some phones, you may encounter the follow message,
As mentioned above, you can try configuring BOTH a Fingerprint and a Face ID configured.
On most Samsung phones, here is how to configure this:
1) Go into Settings on your phone and select Biometrics and security.
Make sure you have both face and fingerprints setup.
2) Press the button then press Open in Xumm App and sign in with the account the you would like to disable your Master key for.
How to rekey your account
Converting your tokens into fiat
For years, GateHub has been a strong member of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) community and has worked with us (and many others) to help expand the ecosystem and make it a great place to do business. Recently we have added a feature to make off-ramping crypto a truly quick and easy process by integrating their platform directly through Xaman (formerly Xumm). This integration makes both on and off-ramping simple and efficient via the GateHub site.
The on/off-ramp feature requires the use of GateHub's issued coins.
Check out this article for more information:
1) Open an account at GateHub and activate it with 10 XRP.
Part of the process of opening an account includes going through the KYC process. You must successfully complete this process via the GateHub registration in order for our service to work.
1) Launch Xaman and tap the GateHub issued currency you would like to send to your bank account. (In this example, we are sending GH-EUR.)
2) Tap the Withdraw Euro button.
3) Enter your contact information and the appropriate information about your bank, then press the Continue button.
Note: The information you enter into this screen will be saved for future use. The Contact Name is the name you are going to give this information. Most people would call it, "Bank of America Account" or "Deutsche Bank Account" or "Whatever bank you are going to send your fiat to account".
4) Enter the amount you would like to send to your bank. Press Continue when done.
(In our example, we are sending 10 Euro.)
5) Review your transaction to make sure it is correct. Press Continue when done.
6) Review the transaction again and sign it with Xaman.
It could take anywhere from 1 to 3 business days for your funds to arrive in your bank account.
Ultimately this depends on how long GateHub takes to process the transaction, and how long your bank takes to process it on their end.
Unfortunately there is no way to do this. Xaman does not receive any information about the transfer after it has been initiated.
GateHub support can be reached here if you have any questions about your transfer or:
Interested in the Flare airdrop or holding the Spark token?
The Flare Network is a new network which hopes to position themselves as a universal bridging blockchain.
For more information and to keep up to date on Flare’s progress, check out their home page.
No. Flare Networks Limited is a separate company from XRPL Labs (the creators of Xumm). Xumm does not support the Spark token, the Flare airdrop or the Flare network.
In order to claim the Flare tokens, you would have had to modify your XRP Ledger account with a message key pointing to your Flare address. The Xumm team created a tool that simplified that process. That is the extent of our involvement in the Flare project.
Xumm supports all transaction types on the XRP Ledger and is committed to supporting the XRPL community. We created the tool to assist the community with modifying their XRPL accounts.
No. They will be delivered to your Flare account. The Flare network is not compatible with the XRP Ledger, so there is no way to move Flare tokens back and forth between from them.
For more information, please contact Flare Support. They can be reached at:
The Flare/Songbird claim period ended on June 11, 2021.
On September 17, 2021, the SGB network was launched and the SGB tokens were distributed.
For more information, please contact Flare Support. They can be reached at:
No. Xumm is exclusively an XRP Ledger wallet. We support XRP and all of the 8200+ tokens on the XRPL. You can not access or interact with the Flare network with Xumm.
No. Xumm is exclusively an XRP Ledger wallet. We support XRP and all of the 8200+ tokens on the XRPL. You can not access the Flare network with Xumm.
Gatehub has issued both Songbird and Flare tokens on the XRP Ledger. You can create a Trust Line to either of these assets, but they were issued on the XRPL, not the Songbird or Flare networks.
For more information about this, please refer to this article: All about Gatehub's issued tokens

No. FLR is the native token on the Flare blockchain. The Flare blockchain and the XRPL are separate and incompatible networks. You can not access the Flare network with Xumm.
KYC is short for Know Your Customer.
It is a requirement in the heavily regulated financial sector (such as banks, payment institutions, securities and also for virtual assets) to identify a client and then to verify the identity of the client.
Many governments have already imposed KYC on the crypto industry and are requiring that crypto exchanges and other service providers enforce the KYC process for their clients.
No. It is entirely optional. Xaman is a self-custodial wallet and self custody wallets are not yet regulated. However, countries and their national supervisors are working together in the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) to introduce more obligations around virtual assets and virtual asset service providers in order to identify bad actors/people that use crypto for illegal purposes. Therefore, in time, KYC is expected to become more common/required.
Many people feel that going through the KYC process is a way of adding legitimacy to their XRP Ledger account. At Xaman, we work together with professional partners to be able to properly identify and verify the identity of a person. In many countries, people prefer to know who they are dealing with when it comes to financial transactions.
The KYC process requires that you have an official government issued document to help identify who you are. For most countries, this means:
A valid passport
A valid driver's license
A valid ID card
A valid residence permit
For a current list of supported documents, please refer to this link:
When you subscribe to Xaman Pro (Beta), you will have the option to go through the KYC process, however, only those who go through KYC will be able to access to the Pro Beta features like a Profiles, PayString, uploading your avatar and showing your real name when sending payment requests.
Because we only want to support trustworthy profiles & to prevent imposters, your avatar & display name will be compared to your KYC government ID information. This way, everybody in the ecosystem will be able to trust other users and their profiles, names, avatars, if they have a Pro Beta subscription.
Since anyone can import an XRPL account into Xaman as "read only", there is no way for us to verify that you own the account unless your have full signing access to it. (This is also why you can not go through the KYC process on an account that has been blackholed.) The idea behind KYC is to verify your identity and associate this verification with an XRP Ledger account that you own. In order to do that, you need to have "full access" to your XRPL account. This means that you know the secret keys for your account and you have imported them into Xaman.
In Xaman Pro Beta, simply click on the Open KYC xApp and follow the instructions on the screen.
Xaman does not currently have a place in the app to verify that you went through the KYC process. (We assume that you already know that you completed it so there is no reason to display it. )
...but just in case, here are a couple of ways to check:
Xaman: verified √
The only way to get "Xaman verified" to be displayed in Bithomp or XRPScan is to go through the KYC process via Xaman Pro.
That depends on the airdrop. Some projects on the XRPL require that you go through the KYC process in order to participate. Normally, the project would provide the means to do this.
We are super excited about the release of Xaman Pro Beta! 🎉.

Understanding SPAM
A spam transaction is any unwanted or unsolicited transaction that gets sent out in bulk across the XRP Ledger. Here is how spam transactions look in Xaman:
The spam transactions themselves are not dangerous. In most cases, spam transaction are simply a marketing ploy to try to get you to participate in their project, but in other cases, they are trying to scam you.
For example:
If you were to follow the instructions in the Memo field, you would certainly be scammed.
Absolutely not. No one can access your XRPL account unless they know your account secret. (Secret numbers / Family seed / Mnemonic) As long as you keep your account secret safe and secure, your funds are safe. The only way someone can access your XRPL account is if you give them your account secret. See this article for more information:
No. Each transaction costs the sender to send them. The sender pays the XRPL transaction fees, not you.
Begininng in Xaman v3.3.1, we have included a way to block out spam transactions from the Events list.
Some people who receive spam, take it upon themselves to contact the scam token issuers and explain (often in very strong language) spamming a public network is… unwanted and undesirable.
Others take to social media to condemn the token issuers and warn others not to participate.
Most people simply ignore the transactions. We advise you to do this as well.
Nobody can delete a transaction from the XRP Ledger or from Xaman (formerly Xumm). If it exists on the XRPL, Xaman will display it.

That is completely up to you. These spammers want to get some sort of reply from you. That way they know you are reading their messages. Once you reply, it is possible that they will send you targeted messages. There is no telling what their intentions are. We recommend that you ignore them.
Yes. The XRPL automatically charges transaction fees in order to process transactions. It will cost you XRP to send the tokens back to them.
No. Reviewing a transaction on the XRPL is not dangerous. The only way someone can access your XRPL account is if they get access to your account secret. See this article for more information:
The XRP Ledger is a public blockchain. There are many ways to get a list of random r-addresses. If you have created a Trust Line or sent funds to/from a crypto exchange, or participated in an airdrop, or even if you activated an account, your r-address can be filtered and obtained.
Here is an example:
In this case, a person has just activated their account and suddenly they receive a spam transaction advertising a website.
Legitimate projects do not send unsolicited transactions across public networks.
There is currently no way of preventing this from happening on the XRP Ledger.
We have numerous ways of identifying spam on the XRPL. When we find accounts that appear to be sending spam, we analyze the history of the account, immediately suppress the memo field and add a notification indicating the transaction may be dangerous. As well, for our Xaman Pro users, the push notifications are suppressed so you are not notified when the spam transactions arrives in your account.
Actually there is. It is called the Xahau network and you can easily interact with the Xahau network using Xaman.
The Xahau network is an XRP Ledger protocol side chain that has all of the same features as the XRP Ledger but it includes additional features like a spam filter. Once the Spam filter is installed on your account, spam transactions are stopped before they even get to your account.
Some people have figured out that they can combine the low fees of the XRPL with the Memo field to send low value transactions to a large number of accounts.
By doing this, they can get their “message” out to thousands of people at a very low cost.
If you look in the Events log in Xaman (formerly Xumm), you will see something like this:
Notice the red triangle with the exclamation mark. This indicates a spam transaction.
Xaman does not disclose personal information to third parties, unless it is necessary due to legal obligations. We work together with industry experts to fulfil our commitment in building and maintaining a safe XRP ecosystem. In our , you will find the personal data we process and the grounds for processing.

How to send SGB to BiFrost
In September 2021, Flare Networks launched a proprietary canary network called Songbird. They issued 15 Billion SGB tokens on the Songbird network.
On October 11-2021, Gatehub issued 1,594,2003 SGB tokens on the XRP Ledger.
While both companies issued a token with the same symbol, SGB, they issued them on different and incompatible networks. (Songbird vs. the XRP Ledger)
Unfortunately this is not possible. You can not send a token that was issued on the XRP Ledger directly to another blockchain. In this case, you can not send SGB issued on the XRPL to the Songbird network. The Songbird network is not compatible with the XRP Ledger.
No. You can not send a token that was issued on the XRP Ledger directly to another blockchain. While Bifrost may support various different blockchains, the Songbird network is not compatible with the XRP Ledger.
The Songbird network does not use r-addresses like the XRP Ledger does. The Songbird network uses Ethereum style addresses which are not compatible with the XRPL. While Bifrost may support various different blockchains, the Songbird network is not compatible with the XRP Ledger.
No. You can not send a token that was issued on the Songbird network to the XRP Ledger The Songbird network is not compatible with the XRP Ledger.
Gatehub will allow you to redeem SGB tokens issued on the XRPL for SGB issued on the Songbird network and vice versa. This article explains how to do this:
Gatehub has their own support department which should be able to answer any questions related to their issued tokens. You can contact them here:
Exporting your XRP Ledger or Xahau account for tax purposes
Xaman is an self-custodial wallet which allows you to interact with the XRP Ledger and the Xahau network. Depending on where you live, some of these interactions can incur tax obligations.
It is your responsibility to investigate and settle these tax obligations with your local government.
Here are two ways you can export your XRP Ledger account transactions into .CSV format.
1) Use the Transaction Exporter xApp in Xumm.
2) Try the Gatehub utility.
Click on this link: https://gatehub.net/explorer then enter your r-address, select the Transactions option, then Export CSV.
Here is one way you can export your Xahau account transactions into .CSV format.
https://xahau-transaction-exporter.xrpl-labs.com/
Try reaching out to your tax software provider and explain the issue you are encountering. Some companies offer alternative import options or manual mapping. If they can not offer a solution, consider switching to a tax software that supports the XRP Ledger and the Xahau network.
Unfortunately, we do not recommend any specific tax software. There are too many companies and applications related to tax preparation for us to stay current with them all.
Your transaction history is available to view on both the XRP Ledger and Xahau. You can always check your account via a blockchain explorer such as Bithomp or XRPscan and manually transcribe your transactions.
No. We do not gather or store information about our users, nor do we keep track of XRP Ledger accounts. Even if a governmental agency were to contact us, we have no way of identifying which XRPL accounts you own.

Learn about our Charity program.
Here at XRPL Labs, we spend a lot of time talking about the XRP community and our role in actively building and developing the XRP ecosystem.
First and foremost, the XRP community is about relationships and building a trusted and safe place where people can come to share ideas, invest in the future of digital commerce and learn about all the great features of the XRP Ledger.
Our flagship product, Xaman (formerlly Xumm), is a big part of our contribution to the community and we continue to work to make it safer, easier to use and more accessible to everyone. To that end, we provide free technical support and spend a considerable amount of time and effort in the community to educate and assist its members. We often receive email and messages of appreciation for our product and for the outstanding service our support staff provides. Many people ask if there is a place where they can make a small donation for the service that we deliver. These requests encouraged us to sit down and try to figure out a method that would allow our members to express their gratitude and to help us to continue our building efforts. So, after many discussions, we decided it was time to roll out a new initiative. As a team, we all agreed that the generosity of our users should be paid forward to make the world a better place. For those who would like to express their gratitude, we now accept gratuities. Here is how it works: All donations will be deposited into an XRP account and once a year, the funds will be divided equally between the following three charities:
The Terry Fox Foundation To maintain the vision and principles of Terry Fox while raising money for cancer research through the annual Terry Fox Run, Terry Fox School Run, as well as via memoriam donations and planned giving. Learn more at: https://terryfox.org
Make a wish Foundation Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Learn more at: https://wish.org
Ocean Conservancy Ocean Conservancy is working with you to protect the ocean from today’s greatest global challenges. Together, we create science-based solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it. Learn more at: https://oceanconservancy.org

I know a great charity that would benefit from this initiative. How do I recommend a charity?
We periodically review the charities we support so if you would like to submit one for consideration, please feel free to create a ticket using the Xumm Support xApp and let us know.
Do I have to donate in order to keep using XUMM or to continue to receive free support?
No, this initiative is completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to participate. Xumm customer service will continue to be free of charge.
What type of funds can I donate?
Currently, you can only donate in XRP, Gatehub USD, Gatehub EUR, Bitstamp USD and CasinoCoin CSC. Liquidity is required (on the Decentralized Exchange) as we must be able to liquidate to USD/EUR if a selected charity doesn't accept crypto donations (in which case we will liquidate and donate in fiat).
Do you provide tax receipts?
No. As Xumm is not a charity itself, we do not provide receipts. We are simply accepting donations and forwarding them in bulk to selected charities.
What is the minimum/maximum amount that I must donate?
There is no minimum, even the smallest amount helps. Give whatever amount you like up to $250 USD (fiat equivalent at the time of the donation). Any amount over that will be sent back to you. While we absolutely love this kind of generosity, we feel amounts over $250 are best sent directly to the charity (instead of through XRPL Labs).
What percentage does XRPL Labs / XUMM take of my donation?
Zero. All funds donated will be distributed to one of the charities listed above. Note: if tax applies, XRPL Labs will have to comply with tax laws.
