How does Xaman calculate the "value" of my XRP?

We actually created an "XRPL Price Oracle" to provide this information.

Anyone in the XRP Ledger community can query our Oracle to get the current XRP value, which is a weighted average from multiple exchanges.

What if I want to know the value of all my tokens?

We have an xApp called Account Worth which displays that information.

How do I change the currency that is displayed?

You can set the currency in Xaman by pressing Settings -> General -> Currency

Why don't you have a live ticker so I can check the value in real time?

Xaman is not really a trading wallet. It is more of an application for transferring value and for helping you interact with the XRP Ledger. There are many exchanges and applications which focus on trading, but not too many that specialize in the XRPL like we do.
