How does the Profiles feature in Xumm Pro work?
The Profiles feature allows you to create an identity page and PayString so people can easily send you funds and locate your account on the XRPL.
Here’s what a Profile page looks like:
It is a pretty cool way to represent yourself and it allows you to control your image in the XRPL community. You get your own personal page on the internet which provides an easy way for people to send you funds.
You just need to open your favorite internet browser and enter your Profile page address.
For example, to get to Kevin's page, you would enter:
In your case, your Profile page would match your identity much closer than Kevin's test page. So if your name is John Shepard, your Profile page could be:
xumm.me/johnshepard
or if your name is Daniel Jackson, your Profile page could be:
xumm.me/danieljackson
The general idea is that your Profile page matches your actual identity.
Your PayString address is an easy way for people to send you funds on the XRP Ledger.
In Kevin's case, his PayString is:
kevin$xumm.me
If you wanted to send XRP to Kevin's account, you could always enter his r-address: rUBvs5S....
but many people have trouble remembering r-addresses. It is much easier to send the XRP to: kevin$xumm.me
Think of PayString like a phone book that links your r-address to an easy-to-remember PayString address.
Since all Xumm Profile pages start with: xumm.me/<yourname> you could simply tell people how to find your Profile page, or, since all PayStrings end with: <yourname>$xumm.me your could simply tell them your PayString but we have taken it one step further.
In Xumm, you can actually search for a PayString directly from the Send flow. In this case, we search for "kevin" and Xumm will display the results for you to choose.
It is just like a phone book, you can look up someone's r-address just by knowing their name! 🎉
We have created an article to walk you through the process:
What are push notifications?
Push notifications are small, pop-up messages that Xaman (formerly Xumm) will display on your phone to alert you of various transactions on your XRP Ledger account. Push notifications cover real-time transactional messages, updates, support messages and more, all of which will help keep you up-to-date on your XRPL account.
Here is an example from a typical phone running Android:
In the first example, you can see that a payment of .000001 XRP was received in the XRPL account labelled "Will" and in the second example you can see that the Xaman Support team has replied to a ticket created via the Xaman Support xApp.
Once you go into the Push notifications section, you should see a list of accounts you can enable push notifications for.
This need to be enabled in order to receive push notifications.
You will only receive push notifications if Xaman is not running. If you are in the application, push notifications will not be sent. (You can always check the Events log for any activity on your account.)
1) Go into Pro, select Push Notifications, then Disable the account you are not receiving notifications on.
2) Exit Xaman, then launch Xaman and launch Pro, select Push Notifications, then Enable the account.
3) Exit Xaman, then have someone send XRP to your account to test it. Note: Basically you are disabling push notifications on the account, then re-enabling push notifications. Remember, you Xaman has to be closed in order to receive notifications.
Notice the at the top of the image and the on the Xaman icon. These are indicators that there has been some activity on your account.
If you tap the you can view the details of the activity. Here are a couple examples of push notifications sent by Xaman:

What is PayString and why is it useful?
Put simply, PayString is like a phone book for the XRP Ledger. It is a protocol that maps human-readable addresses to their corresponding payment addresses.
The public address on the XRP Ledger is a string of numbers and letters called an r-address.
For example:
rGCEB4TQDkdU6GLjc5py15yT1ksrGqPebK
Due to their complexity, r-addresses can be difficult to remember. PayString solves this issue by mapping an r-address to an easy-to remember address.
Currently, only the XRP Ledger supports the PayString protocol.
PayString is part of the Profiles feature in Xumm Pro.

How to configure your Xaman profile
This article will walk you through the steps to create your Xaman Profile and public PayString link.
It assumes that you have already reviewed both of these articles and understand what Xaman Profiles and PayString are all about.
If you have not had a chance to check them out, please do so before continuing.
There are two steps that you need to do before you can create your Xumm profile:
Go through the KYC process
Ensure one or more accounts are linked to Xaman Pro and ensure at least one of them is public
Here is how to do this:
On the main page of Xumm Pro, press the Open KYC xApp button and complete the KYC process.
Next, press the Accounts button then decide which account(s) you would like to link to your public profile and press the Edit button.
Enabling the Show on Profile option will make the account publicly viewable on your Profile page.
Once you have completed the process, the next step is to press the Create Profile button...
then you can create your Profile.
After you have completed entering your Profile and PayString information, press the Finish button to complete the process. You should see this screen:
Press the Go back button to get back to the main screen of Xaman Pro.
After you enter your name in the Setup you profile page,
Xaman will compare it to the KYC document that you submitted during the KYC process. While the name that you choose does not need to match the KYC document exactly, it should be very close, otherwise you will receive this message:
Remember, the point of Profiles is to create an honest identity for yourself. One that can be trusted by others in the XRPL community.
Here is an example of how to choose your name.
If your name is John Smith but you enter the name: Elon Musk Xaman will reject this since the entered name you entered is not reflected on your KYC document.
Xaman would accept slight variations of you name such as: JSmith, JohnS or Johnny Smith
If you are receiving a message saying that you name does not match your legal document, try a couple of variations of your name or request an exception along with an explanation as to why you think you should receive an exception.
Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis.
After you upload your picture in the Setup you profile page,
Xaman will compare it to the KYC document that you submitted during the KYC process. The image that you upload should be a picture of you, otherwise you will receive this message:
Remember, the point of Profiles is to create an honest identity for yourself. One that can be trusted by others in the XRPL community. If you still receive the above message after trying a couple of variations of your picture, try submitting an exception request with an explanation as to why you think you should receive an exception.
Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis.
If you receive this message:
it means that you have not made one of your account publicly visible. Please re-read this document for instructions on how to set up your Xaman Profile.

A quick overview of the Vanity address feature of Xumm Pro
A Vanity address is a customized XRP Ledger account address. The idea behind a Vanity account is to give people the option to personalize their XRP Ledger r-addresses. It is a nice way to make a statement and to own a customized address that will be immortalized on the the XRP Ledger.
The Vanity Address xApp lets you choose from over 400 billion pre-mined r-address which start with your name / handle /brand. so you can find the right one for you. Instead of a random account address (starting with a lower case "r") you will have an account address that starts with a lower case r and then a short value that you can choose.
