# Taxes and your XRPL/Xahau accounts

### **Introduction**

Xaman is a [self-custodial wallet](https://help.xaman.app/app/getting-started-with-xaman/what-is-xumm/understanding-self-custody) which allows you to interact with the XRP Ledger and the Xahau network. It is important to understand that depending on your jurisdiction, your XRPL activity may have tax implications and it is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local tax laws and reporting requirements.

### **How do I get a list of transactions on the XRPL so I can file my taxes?**

Here are several ways you can export your XRP Ledger account transactions into .CSV format.

Enter your r-address, select the **Transactions** option, then **Export CSV**.

### **How do I get a list of transactions on Xahau so I can file my taxes?**

All of the above sites also support the Xahau network. Simply switch from the XRP Ledger to the Xahau network and repeat the same steps you would go through on the XRPL.

### **What if my tax software does not support .CSV files?**

Try reaching out to your **tax software** provider and explain the issue you are encountering. Some companies offer alternative import options or manual mapping. If they can not offer a solution, consider switching to a tax software that supports the XRP Ledger and the Xahau network.

### **Which tax software do you recommend?**

Unfortunately, we do not recommend any specific tax software. There are too many companies and applications related to tax preparation for us to stay current with them all.

### **Last resort**

Your transaction history is available to view on both the XRP Ledger and Xahau. You can always check your account via a blockchain explorer such as Bithomp or XRPscan and manually transcribe your transactions.

### **Do you send my tax information to my government?**

No. We do not gather or store information about our users, nor do we keep track of XRP Ledger accounts. Even if a governmental agency were to contact us, we have no way of identifying which XRPL accounts you own.
